City of Denton Parks, Public Art Committee Minutes February 6, 2025 After determining that a quorum of the City of Denton, Texas, Public Art Committee was present, the Committee convened in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Community Room at 321 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas. Present: Vice-Chair Jennifer Lane and Members Adam Chamberlain, Francesca Romano, Jordan Gil and Travis Veselka. Absent: Valois Vera, Susan Thornton and Connor Bradford 1. PRESENTATIONS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC None 2. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION A. PAC25-001: Consider approval of the minutes of December 5, 2025. Member Chamberlain moved to adopt the item as presented; Romano seconded. Motion carried. PAC25-004: Receive nominations and elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for the Public Art Committee. The item was presented, and discussion followed. Following discussion, staff was provided the following direction: Committee would like staff to encourage fire and animal services to choose large, bold, high-impact art designs. D. PAC25-003: Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction regarding recent repairs to the Betty Jane Blazier Memorial Play Wall at Quakertown Park. The item was presented, and discussion followed. Following discussion, staff was provided the following direction: Consider changing name of the wall. Consider surrounding with bushes. Get quotes from another sculptor to repair. 3. CONCLUDING ITEMS Committee would like staff to look into the possibility of using bond money for upkeep oft that art. Staff will give Council an update on Denton Halloween on 2/18/25.
