Meeting Minutes Regular Meeting of the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Commission Oak Point City Hall 100 Naylor Road Oak Point, Texas 75068 OAK POINT Monday, March 10, 2025 6:00 P.M. 6 country place 1. Call to order, roll call, and announce a quorum is present. Vice Chairperson Brown called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following roll call: Candy Risher Chairperson Present Christina Brown Vice Chairperson Absent Robin Case Commissioner Present Jeanine Hall Commissioner Present Adam Steczko Commissioner Present Dena Miller Alternate Absent City Staff present: Wayne McKethan Interim City Manager Jennifer Henry City Staff City Council present: Scott Dufford Mayor Pro Tem 2. Pledge of Allegiance and Pledge to the Texas Flag. Chairperson Risher led the pledges to the flags. 3. Public Input. No one came forward to speak. 4. Consider and act upon the minutes from the February 10, 2025 regular meeting of the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioner Steczko made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 10, 2025 regular meeting of the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Commission; motion seconded by Commissioner Case. Motion Passed 4-0 5. Discuss seed library. Chairperson Risher and Commissioner Hall discussed making seed packets to pass out during Springfest. Commissioner Hall also mentioned donating books during the Spring event. City Staff will set up a table with two chairs for the PARC. Chairperson Risher will create a postcard handout for seed library education to be handed out during Springfest. 6. Discuss Prestonwood Polo Club event. Commissioner Steczko updated Chairperson Risher on the previous discussion regarding the upcoming Polo Event. Commissioner Hall had contacted Callaway Nursery and Shades of green, both may be willing to donate a gift certificate, or other items assist with the Polo Event. Commissioner Hall will forward the contact info for Callaway's and Shades of Green to City Staff. 7. Update on TxDOT Sidewalk Grant Chairperson Risher gave an update to include that the contract for MHS had been signed and the grant application had been submitted to TxDot. The results of the first phase of the application process should be announced in April. There would be a second round ofthe process ifthe application was approved with results in June. The Grant would cover approximately 1 mile of sidewalk within the city. The cost of the project will be approximately 3.5 million, but the city portion would only be $750,000 if the city was awarded the TxDOT Grant. 8. Update on Monarch Waystation Grant Chairperson Risher gave the update. David and Kim Wootten managed the Grant Application Process, and the Grant was approved. Chairperson Risher mentioned there would need to be a meeting with City Staff to discuss next steps. And expense that the PARC Board may need to cover is some low fencing to outline the designated area that will be used for garden. Grants are available every year SO its possible to receive Grant funding in the future for other gardens within the city. 9.
