Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Motion by Commissioner Shives to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2021 meeting. All in favor. Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to approve the accounts payable dated May 17, 2021 in the amount of $75,092.08. All in favor. All in favor. The Commissioners met with Barbara Covert and Joyce Lynch from the Employment and' Training Office. Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to authorize endorsement to the Commercial Lease Agreement between the County of Fulton and Employment and Training Inc. for a period beginning. July 1, 2021 through. June 30, 2023. All ini favor, Motion by Commissioner Shives to authorize endorsement to the Proclamation for designating May 16-22, 2021 as Emergency Medical Services Week. All in favor. The commissioner held a Safety Committee Meeting. The Commissioners met with Mike Lamb, Wessel & Co and Lisa Beatty Fiscal Administrator regarding Business Matters. Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to transfer $505,000 from PLGIT to Raymond James. All in favor, Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to endorse a letter of support for Southern Alleghenies Planning Development Commission's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Annual Update to the Economic Development Association. All ini favor. Commissioner Ulsh asked for public comment at which time Gako from the Asahi Shimbum Newspaper asked why the percentage was low for Fulton County residents getting the COVID vaccine. Commissioner Shives stated it's an individual choice, that there is a lot of conflicting information and that everyone has to make the best decision for themselves. She also indicated she had received the vaccine and had no issues. Commissioner Ulsh stated he isn't getting the vaccine. He is not encouraging people to be vaccinated as telling them what to do goes against our constitution and it's an individual's personal choice. He said he has made some phone calls for concerned elderly residents before the vaccine was readily available and received three different stories as to why there was a delay of receiving an adequate numbers oft the vaccines. Commissioner Bunch. stated when he has been asked his opinion that he tells people to research and make their own decision. Gako asked If the Commissioners thought politics played into the decision not to be vaccinated. Commissioner Ulsh answered he didn't think that was the case. He said there was sO many conflicting stories on: the virus itself. Commissioner Bunch stated that two weeks ago masks still had to be worn even if vaccinated. and that now that requirement is lifted, The summary was that everyone has the freedom to do whatever they feel is best fori their personal situation. Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to accept the proposal from Upward Broadband for broadband deployment in the Ft. Littleton area in the amount of $33,551.82. All ini favor.
