Public Input Gerald Hoenig, 931 Coral Cove, addressed City Council regarding a new Short-Term Rental in his neighborhood. Patrick Fiedler, 1203 Cedar Pine Lane, applicant, gave a presentation explaining his reasons for requesting the zoning change. Mr. Fiedler needed a 5-foot variance from his current side yard setback SO that he could add a garage. He was informed that the only way he could accomplish this would be through a zoning change that would not only match the zoning of the rest of Cedar Pine Lane but would then also allow him the side yard setback he needed to build his garage. Consider and act to appoint David McBeth and two Council Members to the Comprehensive Update Committee. Council Member Lusk made a motion to appoint Council Members Hawrysio and Weiler and former Council Member McBeth to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Update Committee; motion seconded by Council Member Bastaich. Consider and act on a resolution providing for the temporary closure of approximately 300 feet of Majestic Oaks Drive on May 29, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jim McMeans, 1011 Oak View Drive, explained that the Eagles Landing HOA would like to hold an event again this May and close a section of Majestic Oaks for the event. Council Member Bastaich made a motion to approve a resolution providing for the temporary closure of approximately 300 feet of Majestic Oaks Drive on May 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; motion seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dufford. Motion Passed 6-0 24. Discuss and provide direction to City staff regarding topics for the Spring 2025 edition of the Country Place Bulletin. Staff and Council discussed the Spring newsletter. Council would like to see something about the City Manager Search and Mayor Meek would like something about Emergency Management in the newsletter. 25. Discussion and possible action regarding striping Martingale Road. Police Chief Tatu gave a reported requests from citizens had been made to stripe Martingale Road. Chief Tatu recommended that the City use reflectors instead of painting striping on the road. He will bring back costs to the Council. 26. Discussion regarding wind turbine ordinance. Mayor Pro Tem Dufford brought to Council's attention the need to update the City's wind turbine ordinance. City Planner Coker reported that he had reviewed the ordinance and is in agreement that it needs to be amended. 27. Consider and act upon topics to be scheduled for a future City Council Meeting. Council Member Lusk would like for MHS Planning & Design give a report to Council about the grant writing contracts. Council Member Bastaich would like the Quilts of Valor group to be on the next agenda 28.
