MINUTES OF THE CASTROVILLE AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Castroville Mumicipal Airport Conference Room, March, 3, 2025 I. Call to Order- The meeting was called to order at 17:05 by John Klaerner, Board members Steve Burke, Brian Ganousis, Ken Lange, Kirby Turner, and Sheena Martinez, were present. Others attending were Amold Dollase, Chuck Friesenhahn, and Airport Manager Michael Haley. IL. Public Comment Opportumity- Mr. Dollase has fielded questions about the high school aviation STEM Mechanic class. He has been in contact with Congressman Tony Gonzales' staff, but they have not been forthcoming other than the concept is still "out there". IL. Minutes of Previous Meeting- Motion was made to approve: seconded and passed IV. Airport Managers Update, Operations Report A. Jamary Fuel Sales: AVGAS 2322 gal ($18,678) Jet A 4074 gal ($9,984) February Fuel Sales: AVGAS 5693 gal ($28,235) JetA 411 gal ($1949) B. RFQ release for hydrological suvey is in TADOIS hands. C. AWOS project is complete. Faulty barometer has been replaced. D. RNAV for Runway 16 minimums should be established and published July of 2026 E. Mr. Haley has been given a full time position as an administration field supervisor and line tech. no longer as Airport Manager. F. We have new fenants in B-5 and E-5. G. AT&T poles/ines project is complete H. Chevrons have been painted on midfield taxiways to indicate direction I. Sign being made for front that will scroll any pertinent info. J. on FAA RAMP oNe Waiting for grant $ for fencing (terminal building to Dream Flights) and road resurfacing (actnally waiting for hydro survey to be sure new road surface wouldn't need to be redone). MAA K. Ran II MOA: Air Force wants to lower the floor of MOA from 9,000' AGL to 500'AGL. This will put VFR traffic at risk of Mid-air collision with high speed jet traffic. All concemed pilots are uged to respond with email before 11 March. Mr. Klaemer will send a reply with the consensus of the CAAB opposing this move. V. Quarter 1 Budget: Mr. Haley's move to full time (at $22 per hour V. $24 per hour) combined with not hiring another technician has essentially "fixed" the airport budget.
