MINUTES: AMELIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 10, 2024 AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE AMELIA COUNTY CONFERENCE ROOM EDA MEMBERS PRESENT: ROBERT C. SMITH ROBERT LLEWELLYN WINSTON VAUGHN DENNIS TATUM MAUDIE SCOTT SAM ARRINGTON ALSO PRESENT: CLARENCE C. MONDAY, County Administrator ASHLEY GUNN, Administrative Assistant The December 10, 2024 EDA meeting was called to order by Robert C. Smith. Roll Call was taken by Clarence Monday with Eldon Dieffenbach excused from today's meeting. Robert Llewellyn offered the invocation. Everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. COMMUNICATION FROM CITIZENS No communication from the citizens. APPROVALACCIETANCT: OF MINUTES AND FINANCIAL REPORTS The November 12, 204 minutes were approved with corrections on a motion by Maudie Scott and seconded by Winston Vaughn. The November 2024 Treasurer's reports were accepted on a motion by Robert Llewellyn and seconded by Sam Arrington. OLD/NEW BUSINESS A. Richardson Road 1. Signage The board reviewed the sign that was provided in the packet by Neal Barber. Mr. Smith discussed approximately $900 for the sign. The board decided to put the sign at the entrance ofthe property. 2. Appraisal Discussion The board discussed and agreed to put an advertisement in the paper accepting bids for a whole property appraisal for Richardson Road. B. Red Velocity Inc. Ashley Gunn discussed the final filmography details from Red Velocity Inc. Partnership. 1. Oakmulgee Dairy Farm 2. Winterham Bed & Breakfast 3. Haunted Vineyard Winery Mr. Smith inquired about the county reaching out to different organizations and companies to advertise Amelia. COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT A. Comprehensive Plan Update Mr. Monday provided an update on the Comprehensive Plan progress. He stated the next meeting is this week (December 12) where they'll discuss the agricultural and transportation section. B. Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Mr. Monday discussed the importance of being a part of CEDS to qualify for certain grants and funding for EDA's. Mr. Monday discussed submitting three names to the CRC as a Representative from Amelia. He discussed asking and the individuals from BOS, EDA and Planning Commission chairmen who have agreed to represent Amelia. -Mr. Smith discussed renewing the Chamber ofCommerce membership with the consensus of the board agreeing to do SO.
