CITY OF MEXICO BEACH, FLORIDA INTERNAL TASK ORDER Task Order Number: 2025-01 Date Issued: 03/18/2025 Issued By: Mexico Beach City Council Issued To: Mexico Beach Planning and Zoning Committee (P&Z) Task' Title: Begin Review of Potential Changes to the Land Development Code (LDC) Background & Purpose: Concerns have been raised by residents, the City Council, City staff, builders, and City vendors regarding language in the LDC. ALL stakeholders were invited to share their concerns and ideas with the City Administrator. The Administrator then presented a list of suggestions to the Council for their action. The Council determined that they would ask P&Z to begin the process of suggesting changes. The first 10 items were prioritized by the Administrator, EPCI, and TPC. Iti is now upi to P&Z1 to determine how to manage the process of making recommendations to the Council with the ultimate deliverable being those suggested ecommendations. Scope of Work: The City Council has confirmed the first 10 items that might need to be created or updated within the LDC. These items are a mix of minor edits (formatting, numbering, etc.) and major changes. The City Council is requesting recommendations from Planning and Zoning regarding these 10 items. See the attached sheet for the list of items. Deliverables: 1. For each item, P&Z should create a proposal to include either taking no action or a suggested action to take or change to make. 2. P&Z should provide their plan to the Council detailing how they will proceed with the process overall. Possible actions could include (but are not limited to) holding workshops on each item or addressing items during regularly scheduled meetings. 3. Based on the determination of #2 above, P&Z should provide a timeline for delivering their response on the first 10 items to the council by the 4/22/25 council meeting.
