City Council Meeting March 25, 2025 1. CALL TO ORDER: Regular Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by Mayor LeBarre. Mayor LeBarre spoke about Sgt. Ryan Kenedy and about how much City Council appreciated his hard work. Mayor LeBarre asked for a moment of silence. Chief James Hunt spoke about Sgt. Ryan Kenedy. He was quiet, consistent and humble. He changed people's lives that most of us didn't know about because he wasn't a bragger about what he was doing. Chief Hunt thanked the local law enforcement agencies for their support today and the next few days covering our shifts. Mayor LeBarre stated that we Congresswoman Lofgren, Speaker Rivas, Senator Laird, Supervisor Lopez extended their support. 2. FLAG SALUTE: The flag salute was led by Mayor LeBarre. 4. CLOSED SESSION ANNOUNCEMENTS: No reportable action from the last meeting. 5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: None 6. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS: Margarita Lopez spoke about Sgt. Kenedy and his passion for working with them at the church. They appreciated him. Maria Alives spoke on signage being put up to make people aware of children with autism being present like in neighborhoods or parks. Her son is autistic, and she would like to make people more aware of children with autism. 7. COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS: Council Member Avalos stated he had nothing to report tonight. Council Member Cullen stated it was hard to report anything out tonight. He stated that he had received a notice through Mee Memorial Hospital about potential cuts of Medicare and Medicaid and sending letters of support for not cutting. He would like to see City Council write a letters of support. Annual tire amnesty program April 5th. May 315t. Council Member Victoria stated the elementary school district is on Spring Break. Everyone at Chalone Peaks Middle School, the kids, loved Sgt. Kenedy. Mayor Pro Tem Deleon stated he had nothing to report this week. He did want to make staff aware of the announcement coming out of Washington about FEMA funding being reported not coming through. Mayor LeBarre stated that he will be having his annual meeting with Speaker Rivas next week. 8. CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMENTS: City Manager Adams had nothing to report tonight. Consideration: Approval of Loan Document with CHISPA for the Mills Ranch Affordable Housing Project Under the Permanent Local Housing Allocation Program (PLHA) Chad Maxwell, Vertis President, cannabis operation. Consideration: King City Golf Course Restoration Project Process and Amendment to Operation Contract Services Agreement with First Tee Monterey County Action: Motion to approve a Second Amendment to the Contract Services Agreement which would agree to provide a monthly payment of $15,000 to First Tee to address the decrease in revenue due to the flood damage for the period of three months and appropriate $45,000 for the increased costs. by LeBarre seconded by Cullen.
