Meeting of the Fulton County Commissioners - Tuesday, June 25, 2019 8:30 a.m. at the Commissioners' Office Present; Commissioner Uish, Commissioner McCray (via conference call) and Commissioner Lynch Other's Present: Paula Shives Rebecca Kendall Others Present: Commissioner Ulsh opened the meeting with a moment of silent prayer and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Motion by Commissioner Ulsh to approve the minutes of the June 18, 2019 meeting. All in favor. Motion by Commissioner Lynch to approve the accounts payable dated June 21, 2019 in the amount of $76,079.63. All in favor. There were three bids received in the following amounts: Kayla Jones-$501, Phillip Miller-$875 and Billy Doyle-$512. Motion by Commissioner Lynch to award to the highest bidder Mr. Phillip Miller. All in favor. The Commissioners met with Mr. James Stein regarding County Solicitor Matters. The Commissioners met with Karen Hann McFadden, Elections Director and Lisa Beatty as well as various Election Poll Workers to discuss the new election machines. A: statement will be made by the Commissioners for a press release and a fact sheet drafted by Karen Hann McFadden of general questions and answers that can be distributed to expel concerns regarding the new machines. Those in attendance were: 2019 Election Board-Larry Palmer, Penelope Shives, Melissa Horton. Also, the following Election Poll Workers- Margaret Kerlin, Joyce Brennan, Gloria Drenning, Irene Sprowl, Brenda Gearhart, Mike Szwydek, Edwin Layton, Lucinda Knepper, Frances Hoover, Connie Hamil, Carol Richards, Nancy Harr, Joan Carpenter, Mary Ann Poet, Madelin Booth, Joy Dasher, Vivian Bernhard, Vera Brown, Julia Berkstresser and David Gourley. All Municipalities' Election Poll Workers were present except: the McConnellsburg Borough and Licking Creek, Union and Wells Townships. The Commissioners met with Michelle Hall, Superintendent and Amy Hershey, Business Manager from the Central Fulton School District regarding a School Resource Officer. Follow up meetings will be scheduled to discuss this matter in more detail. The Commissioners met with Karen Hann McFadden regarding CDBG matters to include a Corrective Action Plan from the Performance Review for FFY 2013-2015. Motion by Chairman Ulsh to approve and authorize signature on the Environmental Review Exempt Status Determination Form for the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Company handicapped accessibility up grades project.
