Roll Call: Present: Ms. Cain, Ms. Ferson, Mr. Fonos, Mr. Harhai, Mr. Karafa, Mr. McLaughlin, Ms. Nikolas. Also Present: Mayor Joe Baran, Engineer Mark Brashear, Solicitors Stanley Lederman and Michael Lederman, Secretary Donna McMichael. President Cain asked anyone in the audience if they had any questions on agenda items. No comments were made. REPORTS: Mark Brashear: Engineer, ABC's (Authorities / Boards / Commissions) Working on the waste load reports. Need to get permits from Norfolk Southern to repair the pipe under the BP Gas Station. Updating the Zoning Ordinance. A letter has been sent to the owner and tenant of 1069 Forest Avenue about the ten-car limit. The property owner also sent a letter to the tenant. Ryan Noone is inquiring about a large parcel adjacent to Calhoun Field to purchase. It is valuable to the Borough for stormwater control. Crack sealing will be done in the Spring. It has been a difficult winter. The dead-end on Pinewood has not been done in several years. 6th Avenue, an unpaved street, has been repaired temporarily. Mayor Joseph Baran Chief Rozzo is working on accreditation. Barb asked: Did he locate any grants? Police will be starting this week on twelve-hour shifts. Stanley Lederman, Solicitor Tonight, we will have two Resolutions. We will have an Executive Session dealing with personnel, legal matters, and real estate. Mark prepared a list of questions. Communications (Lynn Nikolas, Chair) Meetings on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 6:00 pm Working on the -gov emails. John and Dave: Let Lynn know about the gov emails. Pulling files from the W drive. Looking at QuickBooks online. New hire packet started. Send Lynn the Code Enforcement log. Community Affairs (John Karafa, Chair) Meetings on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 4:00 pm Iwould like to change Community Day to September 20th. In the summer of 2026, it will be the 125th Anniversary. We need to think about getting a book made. We have 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversary books. Properties (Dave Harhai, Chair) Meetings on the 2nd Tuesday every other month at 4:00 pm (February, May, August, and November) Start planning for the 2026 event. The fire department is also turning 125. One Valley Social is having entrepreneurs get together on Thursday, February 13th. They will be rotating around the Boroughs. SVEZ will be reviewing a presentation for Historic Homestead. SV Youth Baseball is pursuing a grant from the Campbell Foundation for batting catches and lighting. Public Safety (Bill McLaughlin, Chair) Meetings on the 2nd Tuesday each month at 5:00 pm Savvy Citizen is up and running. Sewer Management (Barb Ferson, Chair) Meetings on the 1st Tuesday each month at 5:30 pm The NMC report is finished. Check with Alcosan about the drainage stenciling. The Boy Scout group will do the stenciling. 2025: President's Report Hired a new Public Works person. Public Works are filling potholes and cutting trees on the Avenue. They purchased a new chainsaw. Public works have a $150 uniform allowance. T-shirts and hoodies were ordered. Al to shut down Basic Avenue to fill potholes. The County needs to be contacted. Republic has purchased Recycle Source. Attended the Planning Commission meeting. Give the Sidewalk project in the Northern district to Planning Commission.
