Park and Events Board Meeting Minutes, January 30, 2025 5, REPORTS, PRESENTATIONS, AND UPDATES: A. Receive reports on community events and the status of city park projects, including City Park grant and City Park Bathroom. Presented by Katherin Reading, Cify Manager. January 17, 2025, received NTP (Notice to Proceed), allowing for the installation ofbenches, bike racks, and tables. The project is progressing with a focus on community awareness and involvement. Ordered survey Sent specs ofbenches, tables, bike racks Signage Benches were ordered on January 28, 2025. Public Works will begin concrete pads for benches and tables. Comments from Board Members Amy Samuel - bench bottom left outside of fence. We can look at both positions. Tammy Rydell - does not like her back to the parking lot. Don Yeandle - Where the big white arrow is? Bench under tree offers an alternative. Two benches where the bathroom is to be located. The tables will be in the area ofthe bathroom. Take map home to review and give recommendations to present to the City Council. Nita -Where will the food trucks be located? By sidewalk. City Grant Budget (ledger provided) 50/50 Match Grant We can apply for another grant next year and add multi-sport renovation. Permanent signage is up, it did not impact our budget. $15,780.16 Ramp installation at the outside circle to the inside structure. Multi-Sport Renovation to contract out. Can claim match through Force Account (Reduce City' Out ofPocket and meet requirement). Two proposals for the park bathroom were received, with plans to present them to the City Council on February 3, 2025. RFP for City Stage Have it buttoned up for March. Park and Events Board Meeting Minutes, January 30, 2025 Aiming for completion by April. Mayor: Celebration at the park when the bathroom has been completed. Bathroom no sharing sinks. Not located across the creek. Considering factors like accessibility and visibility. The playground needs to be completed by April. Celebration during Antique Alley Weekend/ Easter weekend. Redeeming Winds: Discussion with Heather Lamb. Prefer to have different times of events, open to the same day, completely understanding of schedules, door open ifshe wants to have together. No vote necessary. No questions. 6. ACTION ITEMS: A. Consider approval of minutes from the Park and Events meeting held on November 21, 2024, as presented. Board Member Houston moved to approve the minutes. Board Member Yeandle seconded the motion. Motion carried - all ayes. B. Discuss and consider making recommendations to the City Council regarding the Easter event on April 12, 2025. Presented by Carolyn Jones Community Outreach Coordinator. Advertising for Easter event, now on social media, will look into calendar that goes with the water bill, February and March. Start advertising now. Check with National Honor Society to see ifthey would like to assist with stuffing eggs. Already purchased the eggs. Board Member Weeks made a motion to approve recommendations to the City Council regarding the Easter event on April 12, 2025, as discussed. Board Member Redmon seconded the motion. Motion carried - all ayes C. Discuss and consider providing recommendations to the City Council regarding the Park Master Plan. Move bench under tree to the front. Board Member Rydell accept to change ofbench placement and all things as presented. Board Member Redmon seconded the motion. Motion carried - all ayes. 7.
