TENTATIVE MINUTES OF WORK SESSION MARCH 17, 2025 SHIPPINGPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL CHAMBERS PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE MEMBERS PRESENT - ABSENT - William Green, Josh Ordich, Joe Hawthorne. PRESENT - Cindy Mortimer, John DePaolis, James Wilkinson, President Brent Williams, Mayor Erickson. MOTION TO ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 131 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF SHIPPINGPORI, A BOROUGH UNDER THE LAWS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANI, ENTITLED THE "SHIPPINGPORT BOROUGH SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE" Motion by James Wilkinson and seconded by John DePaolis to adopt the ordinance..motion passed unanimously. MOTION TO APPOINT1 THE BOROUGH SECRETARY ASTHE SUBDIVISION ADMINISTRATOR - Motion by John DePaolis and seconded by James Wilkinson to appoint the secretary as the subdivision administrator motion passed unanimously. MOTION TO DISCUSS APPOINTMENTS TO THE SHIPPINGPORT PLANNING COMMISSION -The solicitor advised that the council should consider appointing a planning commission to handle requests related to the subdivision ordinance. The council decided to postpone appointing members until the next meeting. DISCUSSION ON HURING SUMMER HELP - Motion by James Wilkinson and seconded by. John DePaolis to approve hiring summer help this year...motion passed unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT - Mayor Erickson asked whether the council had considered giving the secretary a raise due to increased responsibilities over the past few months. President Williams responded that an employee relations meeting could be scheduled to discuss the matter further. He also noted that the secretary had already received a raise in January. EXECUTIVE SESSION - None. ADJOURN - Motion by Cindy Mortimer and seconded by John DePaolis that the meeting be adjourned, and it was adjourned at 7:14 p.m. motion passed unanimously.
