BOROUGH OF NEW FLORENCE MINUTES FEBRUARY 18, 2025 President Jason Beatty, called the regular meeting of the New Florence Borough Council to order on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 6:30 pm in the Borough Building. ROLL CALL Members Present: Jason Beatty, President Scott Fuller - Absent Mason Luther, V. P. Gwen Dellett - Absent Jeff Rager Ed Craft Chuck O'Shell Cheryl Priest, Secretary Dan Hewitt, Solicitor Mark Dellett, Mayor - Absent PUBLIC COMMENT No report. POLICE REPORT The Police department is moving smoothly. No crimes to report nor any traffic stops conducted. Due to extreme cold and road conditions, it becomes unsafe for the officers and public to conduct these stops. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jeff Rager made a motion to accept the minutes from the regular Meeting of January 21, 2025 as written. The motion was seconded by Mason Luther. All in favor. Motion passed. TREASURER'S REPORT Mason Luther made a motion to accept the January 21, 2025 Treasurer's Report as written. Chuck O'Shell seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed. SOLICITOR'S REPORT Dan Hewitt gave a report on meeting with the representatives of the Senior Center and the Nutrition Inc., that operates the center. A copy of the proposed lease was discussed with council. Jeff Rager made a motion to approve a Resolution authorizing the deed. Ed Craft seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed. Jason Beatty made a motion to approve the Lease with Nutrition Inc., trading and doing business as THE NUTRITION GROUP. Ed Craft seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed. COMMITTEE REPORTS BUILDING, GROUNDS, & EQUIPMENT = Mason Luther, Chair. Scott Fuller, second. The anti-skid that was ordered from Ligonier Stone was paid out of the Liquid Fuels account. NEW BUSINESS Jason Beatty discussed the "solicitation permit" in New Florence Borough. Jeff Rager spoke on the coal trucks passing through town not using their "jake brakes", I but a few of the log trucks continue to run the Jake Brake the whole way through town.
