BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Finance Planning/Zoning, Public Safety and Human/Community Services Committee Workshop Meetings were held on September 19, 2022, in Council Room, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA 18080. FINANCE/PLANNINGIZONING Ronald Kratz - Chairman; Members: Kevin Steckel, Zachari Halkias 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. Public hearing and plan adoption on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building (informational only) There were no questions from the committee members; the Finance Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. PUBLICSAFETY Kevin Steckel - Chairman; Members: Ronald Kratz, Zachari Halkias 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. The committee reviewed the estimate from Kromer Plumbing, Heating & Air for new A/C unit in police department for $6,650.00 (compressor dying, unit leaking for several years). Kromer put booster on to keep compressor running temporarily. President Bartholomew would like this placed on the next regular council agenda for approval. There were no questions from the committee members; the Public Safety Committee meeting was adjourned. C. HUMAN/COMMUNITY SERVICES Zachari Halkias Chairman; Members: Kevin Steckel, Ronald Kratz 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. Councilor Halkias made a motion, duly seconded by Councilor Kratz, to amend the agenda and discuss - request from Caring Hearts to place a Blessing Box at the Hatchery. President Bartholomew declared the motion passed following a Voice Vote, All in Favor. 1 Councilor Steckel stated that Caring Hearts would like to place a blessing box at the hatchery. President Bartholomew would like this placed on the next regular council agenda for approval. There were no questions from the committee members; the Human/Community Services Committee meeting was adjourned. D. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: None E.
