BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Water, Sewer/Solid Waste, and Highway Committee Workshop Meetings were held on November 28, 2022, in Municipal Building, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA. The meeting was called to order by President Bartholomew, at 6:30 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT ABSENT OTHERS VISITORS Thomas Bartholomew Justin Gross Ron Hausman Joseph Wechsler via phone Daniel Stevens Aaron Schoch Bryon Reed Jeffrey Hausman PUBLIC COMMENT: None A. HIGHWAY Jeffrey Hausman Chairman; Members: Joseph Wechsler, Bryon Reed 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. The committee reviewed the professional services agreement with ARRO Consulting $6,000.00 for the MS4. There was an increase of $500.00 from last year. President Bartholomew would like this placed on the next regular council agenda. b. The committee reviewed the BEI Electrical proposal for possible use of generator at maintenance building. Manager Stevens explained the first estimate is to have a transfer switch and connection for the use oft the portable generator. The last estimate is for a whole new generator. Councilor Hausman would like to purchase a whole new generator. A poll was taken of the committee: Councilors Wechsler, Reed, Hausman, Bartholomew, opted for a new generator. Councilor Reed suggested hooking up to the gas line. Manager Stevens will contact BEI and UGI for additional cost estimates. President Bartholomew would like this placed on the next regular council agenda. C. Councilor Hausman stated that the update and discussion ofLehigh Engineering study on paving costs will go to the regular council agenda. (waiting for information from Lehigh Engineering) d. Councilor Hausman stated that the update and discussion on Covid-19 ARPA H20 PA Grant will go to the regular council agenda. (waiting for information from Lehigh Engineering) Being no further questions from the committee members, and SO the Highway Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. SEWER Joseph Wechsler Chairman; Members: Bryon Reed, Jeffrey Hausman 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. Manager Stevens stated that he has not heard anything further from the engineering firm concerning bidding for digester lid removal project. Being no further questions from the committee members, the Sewer Committee meeting was adjourned. 1 C. WATER/SPECIAL SEWER COMMITTEE Bryon Reed - Chairman; Members: Jeffrey Hausman, Joseph Wechsler 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. Manager Stevens explained to the committee about the PA Homeowners Assistance Fund. This fund could be used to pay utility payments. They are asking if the borough would be interested in taking part of this program. Manager Stevens will research further. b. Councilor Reed stated that the update on Covid-19 ARPA PA Small Water and Sewer grant will go on the next regular council agenda. (waiting for information from Lehigh Engineering) C. Justin Gross stated that the paperwork is being finalized for the bid documents for the Autocon Panel upgrades.
