BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Finance Planning/Zoning, Public Safety and Human/Community Services Committee Workshop Meetings were held on December 23, 2019 in Council Room, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA 18080. The meeting was called to order by President Stevens at 6:30 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT ABSENT OTHERS PRESENT VISITORS Daniel Stevens Kris Porter Jason Ruff Ron Hausman David Schnaars Thomas Bartholomew PUBLIC COMMENT: NONE A. FINANCE/PLANNINGIZONING Thomas Bartholomew - Chairman; Members: David Schnaars, Jason Ruff 1. Committee Member Discussion: There were no questions from the committee members; the Finance Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. PUBLICSAFETY David Schnaars-Chairman; Members: Thomas Bartholomew, Jason Ruff 1. Committee Member Discussion Councilor Schnaars informed the committee that they are trying to get the panel squared away for the police station, which is attached to the fire alarm system. There were no questions from the committee members; the Public Safety Committee meeting was adjourned. C. HUMANCOMMUNITY SERVICES Jason Ruff - Chairman; Members: David Schnaars, Thomas Bartholomew 1. Committee Member Discussion a. Discuss dates for Community Yard Sales: Friday, May 15th 2 Saturday, May 16th, Sunday, May 17th, and Friday, September 11, Saturday, September 12th, Sunday, September 13, 2020. This will be placed on the next council agenda for approval. b. Councilor Ruff discussed the 2020 Electronic Recycling Dates. The committee agreed to do two, as was budgeted for the year one on April 4th, 2020 and tentatively October 3rd, or 10th, 2020. Councilor Ruff will contact the company to obtain the specific date for October. 1 C. The committee reviewed the appointment of Debbie Silfies for a 3-year term to the Slatington Public Library Board of Director. This is will be placed on the next council agenda for approval. There were no questions from the committee members; the Human/Community Services meeting was adjourned.
