BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Water, Sewer/Solid Waste, and Highway Committee Workshop Meetings were held on October 15, 2018, in Council Room, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA. The meeting was called to order by President Stevens at 6:30 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT ABSENT OTHERS VISITORS Daniel Stevens Russell Hallman Larry Turoscy Ed Ziegler Bryon Reed Joseph Wechsler PUBLIC COMMENT: None A. HIGHWAY Bryon Reed = Acting Chairman; Members: Joseph Wechsler, Russell Hallman 1. Committee Member Discussion: Councilor Reed informed the committee Grand Turk will be fixing the street sweeper tomorrow. a. Councilor Reed stated the borough can now apply for the Main Street and Walnut Street intersection Multi-model application. Larry Turoscy provided information with the items that must be on the multi-model application. The borough has 2 years to use the money if they receive the grant. Larry provided a table with costs for the degradation fees. The ordinance will allow the fees to be changed by resolution. B. SEWER Joseph Wechsler - Chairman; Members: Bryon Reed, Russell Hallman 1. Committee Member Discussion: Councilor Wechsler had spoken with Alex and he will get in touch with Ed to review specs for the bids. Councilor Wechsler also spoke with John Bolton concerning the MS-4 catalogue. C. WATERSPECIAL SEWER COMMITTEE Bryon Reed- Chairman; Members: Russell Hallman, Joseph Wechsler 1. Committee Member Discussion: Councilor Reed informed the committee Robert's is looking at the Autocon. Councilor Reed was reviewing the PA Small Water Grant and is interested to know approximately how much work could be done on Shadow Oaks for $250,000.00. President Stevens informed the committee that Keystone Technologies informed us that Windows 7 support will terminate at the beginning of 2020. There will be ai need for new computers for water and sewer. 1 Larry Turoscy informed the committee it will be necessary to do a DRBC analysis of the system every year. COURTESY TO THE FLOOR: Ed Ziegler informed the committee there had been one light that was lit for 24 hours a day. Ed had called about it and now there are 3 lights on the bridge that a lit 24 hours a day and the one light that isn't] lit at all.
