BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Water, Sewer/Solid Waste, and Highway Committee Workshop Meetings were held on March 28, 2022, in Municipal Building, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA. The meeting was called to order by President Bartholomew at 6:30 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT ABSENT OTHERS VISITORS Thomas Bartholomew Mayor Schoch Bryon Reed Daniel Stevens Joseph Wechsler (via phone) Justin Gross Jeffrey Hausman PUBLIC COMMENT: None A. HIGHWAY Jeffrey Hausman Chairman; Members: Joseph Wechsler, Bryon Reed 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. The committee reviewed application and certificate for payment from Lehigh Engineering Associates, Inc. including change orders. Justin Gross informed the committee that this was the work that Wyoming Electric and Signal had finished through December 28th and should be paid for. Justin will be meeting Wyoming Electric & Signal on Wednesday. President Bartholomew requested that this be placed on the next regular council agenda b. Councilor Hausman discussed the garage doors issue at maintenance building, including discussion on Emergency generator for maintenance garage. Councilor Hausman stated that ifthey don't get new doors, maybe they can be retrofitted with a chain drive backup system. Manager Stevens had spoken with Walnutport Door to put pull-down chains on for easier release and to adjust the springs. C. Councilor Hausman discussed using an outside contractor to pave small areas (Welshtown Road water line break), etc., because it is too big an area for the highway crew to pave. Manager Stevens suggested the Western Company, which UGI uses. In addition, possibly working with Walnutport's roller. The committee discussed other roads that could be paved. Being no further questions from the committee members, and sO the Highway Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. SEWER Joseph Wechsler Chairman; Members: Bryon Reed, Jeffrey Hausman 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. Councilor Wechsler stated that the sewer plant has started new testing for grease at the plant. b. Councilor Wechsler stated that they are starting inspections of grease traps, on 3/29/22. Being no further questions from the committee members, and SO the Sewer Committee meeting was adjourned. 1 C. WATERISPECIAL SEWER COMMITTEE Bryon Reed - Chairman; Members: Jeffrey Hausman, Joseph Wechsler 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. The Annual flushing ofthe water system will start on April 11, 2022. It will continue for the entire month of April. Manager Stevens informed the committee there was a meeting Monday morning for the emergency generator bid. Being no further questions from the committee members, and SO the Water/Special Sewer Committee Meeting was adjourned. D.
