FINANCE/PLANNINGIZONING Thomas Bartholomew- Chairman; Members: Kevin Steckel, Jason Ruff 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. The committee discussed the tenant registration ordinance. Councilor Bartholomew would like the following changes to the ordinance: move the due date back to April 1st from January 315t, insert a late fee for those who didn't comply. There was a modification to Section Al.a - send out a good will reminder. Councilor Bartholomew feels that if a landlord does not comply, it is extra work for the borough office staff to contact the landlord, and this work could not be done for less than $75.00. Councilor Reed provided statistics on the landlord registration returns. There were approximately $7,350.00 for the tenant registration, inspection returns were $3,735.00, and moving permits $1,007.00. Councilor Reed stated that the borough does have a procedure in place to handle registrations, and therefore, there would be no need to change the ordinance. The committee does agree that a late fee should be added. Manager Stevens will check to see if this would require an ordinance or a resolution.
