BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Water, Sewer/Solid Waste, and Highway Committee Workshop Meetings were held on June 22, 2020, in Vigilant Fire Company, 110 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA. The meeting was called to order by President Reed at 6:35 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT ABSENT OTHERS VISITORS Bryon Reed Daniel Stevens Joseph Wechsler David Schnaars Ronald Kratz PUBLIC COMMENT: None A. HIGHWAY David Schnaars - Members: Joseph Wechsler, Ronald Kratz 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. The committee discussed the e-mail from Jeffrey Roback, PennDOT, concerning municipal owned traffic signal pole inspection request in Lehigh County. President Reed stated the that traffic signals are to be inspected. Our poles are already on the state inventory because they are located on state roads Councilor Schnaars stated that we have inspected our traffic poles, 1 is scheduled for replacement, and the other 2 are sound. b. Manager Stevens provided updated information for the MS-4. The Slatington Community Cleanup Week "Keeping Our Waterways Clean" and Slatington's Public Program were sent to the Borough's website. The Cleanup Week will be held during the week of June 21st, 2020. For the cleanup they are requesting people, or business, to clean up garbage and take pictures and send them to Manager Stevens SO they can be posted on the website. After they review the information, Manager Stevens will obtain signatures from the Highway, Water, and Sewer Crews for the Slatington Staff Training sign in sheet. Manager Stevens also had several members of the Highway Crew review the Dry Screening Protocol. C. Councilor Schnaars asked if there were any last-minute committee suggestions for Attorney Healy concerning the degradation fees. He also stated that we will be going with the PennDOT requirements. d. Manager Stevens provided a CDBG update. He informed the committee the pre-bid meeting is next Monday, June 29th, 2020, at 10:00 AM. President Reed asked about spraying the weeds. The crew has been out spraying. Manager Stevens will follow-up on the progress of spraying. 1 Manager Stevens gave an update on the skin patch. He had gone around town with the Highway Foreman and marked the cut outs. Manager Stevens stated that based on the measurements they took; more work can be done. He will look at extending some areas and adding some new ones. Being no further questions from the committee members, the Highway Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. SEWER Joseph Wechsler Chairman; Members: David Schnaars, Ronald Kratz 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. Councilor Wechsler stated that the driveway crack at the sewer plant needs to be repaired. Manager Stevens will look at the cracks. Manager Stevens also mentioned the playground is in need of crack sealing. Being no further questions from the committee members, the Sewer Committee meeting was adjourned. C. WATERSPECIAL SEWER COMMITTEE Ronald Kratz - Chairman; Members: Joseph Wechsler, David Schnaars 1. Committee Member Discussion: Being no further questions from the committee members, the Water/Special Sewer Committee Meeting was adjourned.
