The Mayor and Council for the City of Maysville held a Public Hearing on Monday, February 5, 2024, 6:00pm. at 4 Homer Street. Those present: Mayor Richard Presley, Councimembers Kim Wilmoth, Amanda Farley, Richard Parr, Brodriche Jackson and City Clerk/ Administrator Sandra Helton Mayor Presley opened the Public Hearing for comments on the request to split Mr. Sanders property located at 61 homer Street consisting of 1.84 acres with parcel number #B32C048. Mr. Outcalt stated the Planning and Zoning Commission met and would like to recommend to the Mayor and Council to grant the request by allowing them to divide the property into two lots consisting of .84 1.00 acreage. No one expressed opposition or support. A public hearing was held to discuss Lee Rivers Wilkes' request to ask for a variance to build a carport at 126 Legacy Drive, parcel # B32D005B. Mr. Wilkes had already built the carport and did not obtain a building permit before starting. The carport violated the zoning ordinance for his property. Mr. Outcalt stated the Planning and Zoning Commission met and would like to recommend to the Mayor and Council to grant the request by Mr. Wilkes to connect the house and garage with a breezeway therefore bringing it into compliance with the City's Land Use Codes. No one expressed opposition or support. Mayor Presley held the meeting open for twenty minutes. After discussion among the council, the hearing was closed to go into a regular session meeting to vote on the proposed recommendations regarding both requests. No other business was discussed.
