City of] Hudson Council Meeting Minutes City Council of the City of Hudson, Texas, met in regular session Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at the City Hall Council Room, 3458 Ted Trout Dr., Hudson, Texas, at 3:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Robert Smith called the meeting to order at 3:31 p.m. 2. Invocation Jimmy Casper, Police Chief gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. A quorum was present: Councilmembers: Phil Adkison, Joann Novak, Mayor Pro Tem George Knight Absent (at Quorum Check): Juan Ramos and Terry Taliaferro Other City Officials present: James Freeman, City Administrator Cheryl Everett, City Secretary Other City Employees present: Jimmy Casper, Police Chief Other City Affiliates present: Other Guests present: (as per Sign In Sheet) 4. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Authorize the City Administrator to proceed with possible purchase of XYZ properties. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator is wanting to look at property close to the new City Hall for future growth. Action. Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to authorize City Administrator To proceed with possible purchase ofXYZ properties. Councilmember Phil Adkison seconded the motion. Three (3). fora and none (0) opposed - Motion Passed 5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to set specific speed limit in Will Heights Subdivision. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator changing the speed limit from 25 mph to 15 mph. Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to lower the speed limit in Will Heights Subdivision. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Approve the 2nd Phase of Rustic Pines Subdivision. Discussion: Jed Morris with Goodwin Lasiter Engineers, said the 2nd phase will include 15 lots and will complete the subdivision. Action: Councimember Joann Novak moved to approve the 2nd Phase OfRustic Pines Subdivision. Councilmember Phil Adkison seconded the motion. Three (3) for and none (0) opposed - Motion Passed 7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve the Hudson Economic Development Corporation Street Repair Projects. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator said the EDC met to choose street repairs for a section of Walnut Hill and replace 2 culverts, 2 sections of Rollingwood, 1 section of Shady Grove Loop and 1 section of Providence Rd.. Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to approve the Hudson Economic Development Corporation Street Repair Projects. Councilmember Phil Adkison seconded the motion.
