City of Hudson Council Meeting Minutes The City Council of the City of Hudson, Texas, met in regular session on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, at the City Hall Council Room, 3458 Ted Trout Dr., Hudson, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Robert Smith called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Robert Smith gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Approve the Minutes of the Previous Council Meetings. Discussion: Action: Mayor Pro Tem Phil Adkison moved to approve the 20250109 Minutes. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed 5. DISCUSSION AND PRESENTATION of delinquent tax collections report by Attorney James Guest, from Linebarger Law Firm. Discussion: Attorney James Guest presented the 07/01/2023 - 01/31/2025 Reporting period for Delinquent Tax Collection Report for the City of Hudson. City ofHudson Council Meeting Minutes 6. DISCUSSION AND PRESENTATION by James Guest for municipal fines and fees collection services. Discussion: Attorney James Guest presented Linebarger Attorneys at Law Court fees and fines collection services for several nearby cities. 7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Approve a new phone system. Discussion: Javier Horta with TeleClear(nnoyative Printers) was going to present his proposal for an updated phone system but had to cancel due to at family emergency. Action: Councimember Terry Taliaferro moved to table item until next meeting. Councilmember Frankie Ornduff seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed 8. GENERAL MONTHLY REPORTS a. Hudson Volunteer Fire Department - Frankie Ornduff 1. See the January 2025 Report b. Hudson Police Department = Jeff Burns, Police Chief 1. Monthly Dispatch = See January 2025 Blotter Reports C. Administration = Rodney McCarty, City Administrator 1. There were signs on Mt. Carmel Road at both ends, that the road would be closed on February 18"h. Contractors for Oncor put the signs at the wrong location = Gobblers Knob was where the signs should have been placed. 2. Guacamoles is starting the repairs on their restaurant. The owner said it should be completed in a few months. 3. Bahena Trucking is looking to put a parking lot and office in Hudson on Ted Trout Dr. 4. Everett Griffith & Associates are looking at a project site in Hudson for a proposed 19 lot subdivision located on Old Union Road. Our engineer is checking the sewer capacity. 5. We hired Kevin Kelley for the Public Works Director Position. He previously worked here from 2001 to 2008 as our police chief. 9. ADJOURN Councilmember Terry Taliaferro moved to adjourn the meeting.
