City of Hudson Council Meeting Minutes The City Council of the City of Hudson, Texas, met in regular session on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at the City Hall Council Room, 3458 Ted Trout Dr., Hudson, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Pro Phil Adkison called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Pro Tem Phil Adkison gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. A quorum was present: Councilmembers: Mayor ProTem Phil Adkison, Sherry Hellwig, Terry Taliaferro, and Frankie Ornduff, Juan Ramos Absent (at Quorum Check): Mayor Robert Smith Other City Officials present: Rodney McCarty, Interim City Administrator Cheryl Everett, City Secretary Jeff Burns, Police Chief Other City Employees present: Other City Affiliates present: Other Guests present: (as per Sign In Sheet) Trace w/JB Crawford Construction, LLC 4. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve the Minutes of the previous Council Meetings. Discussion: Action: Councimember Sherry Hellwig moved to approve the 20240613 Minutes and the 20240625 Special Called Minutes. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the motion. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed 5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve Hudson Hills Subdivision. Discussion: Trace with J B Construction will start with building 2 houses and it will be 6 to 7 months before hooking onto the sewer. Action: Councimember Terry Taliaferro moved to approve Hudson Hills Subdivision. Councimember Frankie Ornduff seconded the motion. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed City of Hudson Council Meeting Minutes 6. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve 28 Ft. Variance for an awning over the sidewalk at Lancewood Baptist Church. Discussion: Rodney McCarty, Interim City Administrator said that the awning will not go further than the existing awning(which was grandfathered in). Action: Councimember Sherry Hellwig moved to approve the 28 Ft. Variance for the awning over the sidewalk at Lancewood Baptist Church. Councilmember Juan Ramos seconded the motion. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed. 7. GENERAL MONTHLY REPORTS a. Hudson Volunteer Fire Department - Frankie Ornduff 1. See the June 2024 Report b.
