City ofHudson Council Meeting Minutes The City Council of the City of Hudson, Texas, met in regular session on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at the City Hall Council Room, 3458 Ted Trout Dr., Hudson, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Robert Smith called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Robert Smith gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. A quorum was present: Councilmembers: Mayor ProTem Phil Adkison, Sherry Hellwig, Terry Taliaferro, and Frankie Ornduff Absent (at Quorum Check): Juan Ramos Other City Officials present: Rodney McCarty, Public Works Director Cheryl Everett, City Secretary Jeff Burns, Police Chief Other City Employees present: Other City Affiliates present: Judge Pete Johnson Other Guests present: (as per Sign In Sheet) Donna Smith 4. OATHS OF OFFICE FOR MAYOR ROBERT SMITH, TERRY TALIAFERRO, FRANKIE ORNDUFF Judge Pete Johnson swore in Mayor Robert Smith and Aldermen Terry Taliaferro & Frankie Ornduff. 5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve the Minutes of the previous Council Meetings. Discussion: Action: Mayor Pro Tem Phil Adkison moved to approve the 20240509 Minutes. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve Proposed Shoemaker RV Park. Discussion: Mayor Robert Smith said the Proposed Shoemaker RV Parks wants a park over 5 acres since he has 14 acres but the maximum in our RV Ordinance is 5 acres. Action: Councilmember Sherry Hellwig moved to table the Proposed Shoemaker RV Park. Councimember Terry Taliaferro seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed. 7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve lighting and equipment for Police Ford Explorer. Discussion: Jeff Burns, Police Chief presented the bids for the lighting and equipment for the Police Ford Explorer. Action: Councimember Terry Taliaferro moved to approve purchasing the lighting and equipment for $8145.72 for the Police Ford Explorer. Councilmember Frankie Ornduff seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed. 8. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve 1 Bolowrap and training for the Police Department. Discussion: Jeff Burns, Police Chief presented the information on the Bolowrap, along with a video showing the use of the Bolowrap. Action: Councimember Terry Taliaferro moved to table the purchase of 1 Bolowrap and training for the Police Department. Councilmember Sherry Hellwig seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed. 9. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve bid for 1 Pump at Lift Station 2. Discussion: Lift Station 2 both pumps went out and had to order a pump without getting bids to stay in compliance. Action: Councilmember Sherry Hellwig moved to approve purchasing 1 Pump at Lift Station 2. Councimember Terry Taliaferro seconded the motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed. Motion Passed. 10.
