1867 CRAWFORD CITY COUNCIL August 13, 2024 Minutes The City Council of the City of Crawford, Texas conducted a Public Hearing and a Regular Scheduled Meeting on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. at City Hall, 6719 N Lonestar Pkwy., Crawford, Texas 76638. Present: Absent: Mayor Bobby Bain Councilmember Lewis Snow Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Vannatta Councilmember Jared Ferrell Public: Councilmember John Weldon Gina Plemmons Councilmember Neil Watts Don Evans City Secretary Alicia Chaney Katy Blossman City Manager Brian Bolfing Mr. & Mrs. Kraig Disney Chief of Police Bob Fuller Public Hearing = Opened at 6:00 p.m. = Closed at 6:03 p.m. 1. Call Meeting to Order Mayor Bobby Bain called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Bobby Bain gave the invocation. 3. Public Comments Katy Blossman addressed the council regarding agenda item #11. She discussed the potential for accidents due to minors driving golf carts and ATV's. Recently she has witnessed kids not stopping at stop sign's, not having proper lighting on the golf carts and/or ATV's, drivers having 7 kids on a 4-person golf cart, and also parking behind the post office at 11:30 pm, pulling on door handles to the post office vehicles. She asked the council to support law enforcement on enforcing the ordinances in place. 4. Discuss and consider action on adopting the proposed FY 2024-2025 Tax Rate by Ordinance for the City of Crawford. Motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Vannatta to approve the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of 0.490000, which is effectively a 5.70 Ordinance No. 2024-01. EXECUTIVE SESSION -= Pursuant to 551.074, session to discuss hiring of Government Code, the council moves into executive full-time police officer.
