City of Hudson Council Meeting Minutes City Council of the City of Hudson, Texas, met in regular session Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the City Hall Council Room, 201 Mt. Carmel Rd., Hudson, Texas, at 5:30p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Robert Smith called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Robert Smith gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. A quorum was present: Councilmembers: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight, Phil Adkison, Joann Novak, Juan Ramos and Terry Taliaferro Absent (at Quorum Check): Other City Officials present: James Freeman, City Administrator Cheryl Everett, City Secretary Other City Employees present: Rodney McCarty, Field Supervisor Jimmy Casper, Police Chief Other City Affiliates present: Other Guests present: (as per Sign In Sheet) Donna Smith, Gwynne Reeves, Linda Ford, Ronnie & Susan Lee, Dennis Ford, Joy Stephenson, David Whiddon, Judith Kurth 4. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve the Minutes of the November council meeting. Discussion: Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved approve the November Minutes. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the motion. Five (5) fora and none (0) opposed - Motion Passed. 5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to award a contract to an administration firm for application and administration services related to the 2019-2020 XCDBG program. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator said we sent out RFP's to several firms and Ray Vann & Associates was the only firm to respond. He recommends that the council goes with Ray Vann and Associates. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed- - Motion Passed. 6. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to purchase single phase pumps up to a 18hp for the lift stations. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator. said they are in the process ofu upgrading and replacing pumps for Lift stations 4 and Lift stations 5. Action: Councilmember Joann Novak moved to purchase single phase pumps for Lift stations 4 and 5. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the Motion. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed - Motion Passed. 7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to purchase three phase pumps up to 18hp for the lift stations. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator need to purchase a 3 phase pump package for $7,326.29 Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to purchase a 3 phase pump package for $7326.29. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the Motion. Five (5) for and none (0) opposed - Motion Passed. 8. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to purchase float control duplex control panels up to 18hp for lift stations. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator need to purchase a float control duplex controlA panel for Lift station 4 for $3746.00.
