Carmel Rd., Hudson, Texas, at 5:30p.m. 1. Call to Order Mayor Robert Smith called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. Invocation Mayor Robert Smith gave the invocation. 3. Quorum Check Quorum Check was called by City Secretary Cheryl Everett. OATHES OF OFFICE 1.STATEMENT OF ELECTED OFFICER Judge Pete Johnson administered the Statement of Elected Officer to Mayor Robert Smith and councilmembers George Knight & Terry Taliaferro. 2. OATH OF OFFICE Judge Pete Johnson administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Robert Smith and Councilmembers George Knight & Terry Taliaferro. 5. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve the Minutes of the April council meeting. Discussion: Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to approve the Minutes of the April council meeting. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro. seconded the Motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed- Motion Passed. 6. DISCUSSION AND ACTION on Purchase of a New Police Vehicle. 1 Option 1 - Ford Police Interceptor Sedan 2 Option 2 - Ford Police Interceptor Utility Discussion: Jimmy Casper, Police Chief stopped in Silsbee, Tx to look over a ofHudson Council Minutes City Meeting sedan and a utility vehicle. He said both vehicles are V6 engines and all wheel drives. James Freeman, City Administrator recommended a 5yr. note. Action: Mayor Pro Tem George Knight moved to approve the Purchase ofa a Interceptor Utility Vehicle for a 5yr. payment plan. Councilmember Joann Novak seconded the Motion. Four (4) fora and none (0). opposed - Motion Passed. 7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to approve and Grant a Variance for Rustic Pines Subdivision on FM1194. Discussion: Jed Morris with Goodwin Lasiter presented the Rustic Pines Subdivision (Section I). Proposing there will be 26 residential lots in Section and 15 residential lots in Section II. Propose 3 small hydrants to fill a water truck in Section I. Action.: Mayor. ProTem George Knight moved to Grant a Variance for Rustic Pines Phase 1 in consideration installation of fire safety projects and future sewer. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro seconded the Motion. Four (4) fora and none (0) opposed- - Motion Passed 8. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Grant a variance on interior setback on Lot11, Oak Meadows Subdivision. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator said that this lot 11 will need a variance for the interior setback to be 6ft. instead of 10ft. Action:: Councilmember Terry Taliaferro moved to grant a Variance fora a Interior setback on Lot 11, Oak Meadows Subdivision. Mayor Pro Tem George Knight seconded the Motion. Four (4) for and none (0) opposed- - Motion Passed 9. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to select a TDA committee of at least 3 people, to include 1 elected official. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator, Pete Johnson, Municipal Judge and Mayor Robert Smith volunteered to be a part of the TDA committee. Action: No. Action was taken. 10. DISCUSSION AND ACTION to Purchase a Hot Wastewater Jet Machine. Discussion: James Freeman, City Administrator handed out pricing and reviews on Hot Wastewater Jet Machines and proposes that we lease/purchase the Jet Machine. Action. Councilmember Terry Taliaferro moved to lease/purchase a Hot Wastewater, Jet Machine for. 3 to 4. years in the amount of $64,995.00. Councilmember. Joann Novak seconded the Motion. Approve Economic Development Mitigation of Ditch Erosion from City Hall to Hwy. 94. 6. Reaffirm Economic Development purchase (Lease Purchase) of Crack Kettle.
