Commission members were joined by the City Manager and City Attorney to receive information and have any questions they may have addressed. The Granbury Cultural Arts Commission serves at the pleasure of the, City Council to act as a recommending body for arts and cultural projects. The Cultural Arts Commission works together to: Create conceptual plans to recommend to the City Council for approval Once Council votes to accept concept, the Cultural Arts Commission fleshes out the project concept preparing and gathering all data needed for project completion for final recommendation to the Council to move forward and complete the project. Once Council votes to approve the fleshed- out project, the completion takes place. At few standout things discussed: Any fundraising, and or donations must be recommended to the council and receive approval prior to accepting any funds or donations on behalf of the city. The City has placed $10,000 in the tourism budget for Cultural Arts Commission projects with approval oft the Granbury City Council. This is subject to change and may not always be available. City Staff Liaison is your first stop. Tammy will take requests and recommendations to the City Manager who will decide if it is headed to City Council. City council is the final decision maker. 2.3 Discuss costs and needs for the utility box art program for recommendation to the Granbury City Council. Fulshear art program has a successful utility box program and pays their artists $500 for the use of their art on the boxes. Granbury Cultural Arts Commission has been using the Tyler "Beauty and the Box" program as a reference point for their proposed program. Art has been submitted to the open art call and will be considered for this project. The commission will review the Tyler documents and revise for review at the next meeting to prepare a document to present to City Council for approval to move forward with the program. Things being considered are ifthe Cultural Arts Commission would take on the cost of the production of the boxes or if a sponsorship opportunity could be afforded to the community, as well as compensation for the artists, length of time boxes would be covered, cost to produce, etc. To date, one quote for box wrap has been acquired from Fleet Ink. The current thought for boxes would be to propose having a sponsor provide $750 to sponsor a box, with $200 to go to the artist. This item will be presented in the next agenda with members of the commission working on items on the list that can reviewed. 2.4 Discuss and take possible action on estimated cost to reimburse Luis Puron, Executive Director from Rockport Center for the Arts in Rockport, TX, for a presentation on August 8, 2024 "Blueprint for Success", sharing his experience raising funds to achieve big goals. Due to the nature of the date being SO close and not enough publicization of the event, the decision was made to postpone the event to a later date which would allow for better action on behalf of the commission. Date options provided at the meeting to be discuss with Mr. Puron for his schedule availability was 9/9/24 or 11/4/24 or 11/18/24 with social hour being at 4:30pm and event beginning at 5:30pm. Pre event, the commission members would like to attend a dinner (dutch treat) with Mr. Puron and purchase his dinner. Housing and meals for his visit proposed to not exceed $750.00. Board Action Motion To have Luis Puron visit moved to September gth of November 4th or 18th after receiving input from Mr. Puron.
