With the City Council approval of the NADBank Grant Execution on 04.09.2024, NADBank has authorized the City to proceed. Due to the delay in receiving parts, the completion of this project has been delayed. Arc Performance has already demoed the old piping (suction and discharge) and has installed the new 8" suction valve, the new 10" discharge valve, and the lower and upper shutoff valves. The new pump has arrived, and once the pipes are set in, we will proceed with the rebuild of the two existing pumps ($45,000 estimated plus tax). The cost for the pump and rebuilds will be reimbursed by the $250,000 grant funding. As a reminder, the City will have a matching of 10% to the cost of the Delta Pump Station Project. The purpose oft the public hearing will be to hear comments from the public regarding the following subject: Project: Location: Hernandez Park Irrigation System Improvement Hernandez Park located on the west boundary Project between East Delta Street and East California Street, Calipatria, CA 92233 The City of Calipatria was awarded $1,164,484 in funding from the State Department of Housing and Community (HCD) under their Development Community Development Block Grant Program-Coronavirus, Aid Relief, Economic Security Act (CDBG-CV1). Per the standard agreement executed by the City and HCD, the funds were allocated for the Hernandez Park Irrigation System Improvement project which consists of the installation of a non-potable water delivery and irrigation system at Hernandez Park, hand washing features at Hernandez Park and Rademacher Park, hands free entry ways and restroom features at the Health and Wellbeing Center and City Hall. Additional improvements consist of the installation of playground equipment with recycled, rubberized surface, shade structures, a monument sign, fencing, and ADA-compliant picnic tables, benches, concrete walkways, and concrete slabs. Construction on the improvements was completed in early 2025 and a close-out report was prepared. The purpose ofthis public hearing is to notify residents ofthe project completion and closeout report, in accordance with CDBG-CV1 guidelines, and present the closeout report to the City Council where they will review and motion to approve or not approve the report.
