Rene Durfee and Deb Kosina - Bulloch County Humane Society & Statesboro Debra Kosina is associate with the Community Cat Program in Bulloch County, the Bulloch County. Animal Control stopped trapping and killing cats three (3) years ago, the Bulloch County Humane Society has since taken over that responsibility, we do not kill the cats, research has shown that catching and killing cats is an ineffective way to do it. The Humane Society has a trap, neuter and return program and it is free to anyone who cannot afford it, otherwise they ask that people donate $20.00 per cat and the humane society takes up the balance of the vetting. When the cats are trapped and neutered, they are also given a rabies vaccination, also, the left ear is tipped and that shows that the cats have been vaccinated and neutered. Ms. Kosina asked Mr. Gilbert Howard for his contact information in order for her to help him and his wife with the ongoing cat nuisance at their residence. Mr. Howard stated everyone he has spoken to state to him that they do not fool with cats.
