Putnam County Board of Tax Assessors - Minutes - February 11, 2025 Members Present: Shelby Storey, Shona Bales, Virginia Daley, Evan Reese, John Richter Also Present: Paula Spivey, Chuck Anglin The Putnam County Board of Tax Assessors held a regular business meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in the Tax Assessors office. Chairman Shelby Storey called the meeting to order at 3:02pm. Minutes from the regular business meeting on January 14, 2025 were reviewed by the board. In a motion made by Daley and seconded by Reese, the minutes were unanimously approved. Minutes from the Work Session on January 28, 2025 were then approved in a motion by Bales, seconded by Daley. In old business, Chief Appraiser Anglin presented the 2025 Commercial Pricing Schedules for review. In a motion by Richter and seconded by Reese, the board unanimously approved these schedules (16 pages attached in minutes). In correspondence from taxpayers, Mr. Anglin submitted a request to split parcel #056B-211 in order to get a permit to replace/rebuild a dock on the parcel which the taxpayer had previously combined. After some discussion, the board took no action on this request, and current policy remains in place for this process. The 2025 CUVA/FLPA Consent Agenda was reviewed by the board. In a motion by Reese, seconded by Daley, it was unanimously approved (3 pages attached in minutes). In additional business, Mr. Anglin submitted a homestead application for a 100% disabled veteran (parcel #096-012-065). In a motion by Richter and seconded by Reese, the application was unanimously approved. Copy of letter mailed to taxpayer attached in minutes. Mr. Anglin presented a taxpayer's request to take his property out of CUVA. In a motion made by Daley and seconded by Reese, and in accordance with OCGA 48-5-7.4(q)(3), the board unanimously approved a voluntary breach without penalty for parcel #104-003 based on the age of the taxpayer. Copy of taxpayer's letter attached in minutes. And lastly, the board reviewed covenants on parcels #109-053 and #109-054-001, properties purchased by an LLC last year. In a motion by Bales, seconded by Richter, the board unanimously approved breaches with penalties on each parcel. Copies of estimated breach calculations attached in minutes (2 pages).
