A Special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Garza County, Texas was held on Monday, March 3, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Commissioners Courtroom, 300 W. Main St., Post, Texas with the following members present: Lee Norman, Judge; Pct. 1-Jeff Williams; Pct. 2-Kim Wilks; Pct. 3-Byron Lane Jones and Pct. 4-Giles W. Dalby. County officials present: Michael Isbell, Sheriff; Annhya Velez, County Attorney; LuAnne Terry, Treasurer. Also present: Ginger Clemmons, Deputy Clerk: Carol Williams, Administrative Assistant; Kylene Wheeler, Elections Administrator; Bruce Boren, Constable Pct.2; Danya Peterson, Agri-Life Extension Agent; Carla Sanchez and Anna Gibson, Post Dispatch. Judge Norman called the Special Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Order 1: Prayer Order 2: Pledge to Flags Order 3: Public Comment None presented. Order 4: Minutes from the February 10, 2025 regular were approved as presented with a motion by Commissioner Williams and seconded by Commissioner Dalby. With a majority of the court members voting aye, the motion carried and SO ordered. Order 5: Came on for consideration was accounts payable from February 10, 2025 through March 3, 2025. Motion was made by Commissioner Williams and seconded by Commissioner Wilks that all accounts presented in the fund requirement print-out is ordered paid and presented to the Treasurer for payment. With a majority of the court members voting aye, the motion carried and SO ordered. See attachment. V7 F Order 6: Reports from county offices-The following items of information were brought before the Court as a written and/or verbal Report: Sheriff Isbell: Jail Inmate Count; 77, 27 are county inmates and 50 out of county. Kylene Wheeler, Elections Administrator: School Board Election will be on May 3, 2025. Danya Peterson, Agri-Life Extension Agent: Reported numerous activities. See attachment. Judge Norman: Legislature is in session. One bill for ambulance services in rural counties for a grant program of half million dollars for counties less than ten thousand. Will open RFP's next Commissioner's Court on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Giles W. Dalby, Commissioner Pct.4: Had meeting at Dalby Unit this morning and as of this morning the unit has 128 cameras online and working. Sydaptic will be at Dalby Unit this Wednesday. A motion was made by Commissioner Dalby and seconded by Commissioner Wilks. With a majority of the court members voting Aye, the motion carried and SO ordered. Order 7: Consider to approve yearly contract between the Garza County Jail and Sinclair Plumbing for HVAC services and checks with filter changes. A motion was made by Commissioner Wilks and seconded by Commissioner Dalby to approve the the contract petween Garza County Jail and Sinclair Plumbing. With a majority of the court members voting aye, the motion carried and SO ordered. See attachment. Order 8: Budget Amendments and Line Item Transfers.
