BOROUGH OF NEW FLORENCE MINUTES JANUARY 21, 2025 President Jason Beatty, called the regular meeting of the New Florence Borough Council to order on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 6:30 pm in the Borough Building. ROLL CALL Members Present: Jason Beatty, President Scott Fuller Mason Luther, V. P. Gwen Dellett Jeff Rager Ed Craft Chuck O'Shell Cheryl Priest, Secretary - Absent Dan Hewitt, Solicitor - Absent Mark Dellett, Mayor PUBLIC COMMENT Misty Clawson reported on the New Florence Community Development Committee, she passed out calendars of the upcoming events and dates with the New Florence Rec Board. POLICE REPORT Officer Brandon Marsh gave the December 2024 Police Report. The department has completed all the required MPOTEC training for 2024. All necessary NIBERS entries are entered and certified by PSP and the FBI. Chief Goggin has completed his legal updates for 2025 as the Chief. All officers are encouraged to complete their updates as soon as possible. There was a burglary in Seward involving a generator belonging to the borough, no suspects at this time. Charges were filed for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and harassment for an incident at M&C Trucking. A traffic citation was issued for a school bus violation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jeff Rager made a motion to accept the minutes from the Special Meeting of December 23, 2024 as written. The motion was seconded by Chuck O'Shell. All in favor. Motion passed. Mason Luther abstained. TREASURER'S REPORT Mason Luther made a motion to accept the December 23, 2024 Treasurer's Report as written. Gwen Dellett seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed. Ed Craft abstained. SOLICITOR'S REPORT No report. COMMITTEE REPORTS BUILDING, GROUNDS, & EQUIPMENT = Mason Luther, Chair. Scott Fuller, second. Scott Fuller discussed several quotes he received from vendors regarding the mosquito mitigation. The generator was serviced by Backup. Al Thomas ordered anti-skid from Ligonier Stone. STREETS AND DRAINS = Chuck O'Shell, Chair, Jeff Rager, Second Council commented on how well Al Thomas is plowing the streets doing No report. ORDINANCE OFFICER REPORT - Ed Craft No report. OLD BUSINESS A meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 to discuss the Senior Center Deed Transfer. NEW BUSINESS Chuck O'Shell made a motion to remove Mason Luther as a check signer. Ed Craft seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed. Jeff Rager abstained. Mason Luther abstained. Jason Beatty discussed the Borough Website update and commented on an outstanding job Greg Csehoski does for the borough.
