BURGETTSTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL REGULAR SCHEDULED MEETING MINUTES February 3,2025 Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Public comments and questions not pertaining to the agenda items will be held at the end oft the meeting. Beth Hoppe made the Motion to pass February 3, 2025, Meeting Agenda. Second by-Gary Manges questions/Comments: Motion Carried-None Opposed James Smith made the Motion to pass the regular Scheduled Business Minutes held on January 6, 2025. Second by-Beth Hoppe Questions/Comments: Motion Carried-None Opposed 1. Financials: Beth Hoppe made the Motion to pay the unpaid bills in the amount of$3,622.11. Second by -Gary Manges Questions) Comments: None Motion Carried-None Opposed Resnik stated the Fire Department will receive a check in the amount of $12,709.83 for 2024, 2 mill fire tax. 2. Council Comments/Reports: Discuss donating to Smith Township 1 ft. backhoe bucket. James Smith II made the Motion to approve donation to Smith Township on the 1 ft. backhoe bucket. Second by-Beth Hoppe Questions/Comments: Pam Church asked if they were going to purchase. Ken McKinney replied, "No this bucket will fit on Smith Township backhoe and would like to donate." Motion Carried-None Opposed James Smith made the Motion to approve Resolution 2025-004 authorizing the donation of a 1 ft. backhoe bucket to Smith Township Municipality. Second by-Pam Church Question/Comments: None Motion Carried-None Opposed Street Department-Gary Manges Street Department-Gary Manges No Report Park and Recreation- James Smith II No Report 3. Mayor Report/Police Report/Fire Report-Luke Snatchko No Report Jerry McClain addressed and explained the new Fire Report details. 4. New Business- Ken McKinney discussed new items to be purchased for the street department. James Smith II made the Motion to approve purchasing items for the street department garage not to exceed $1,000.00. Second by-Beth Hoppe Question/Comments: None Motion Carried-None Opposed 5. Old Business- Gary Manges made the Motion to approve Ordinance Rezoning 403 West Pittsburgh Street to be included in the Commercial District and Amending the Borough Zoning Map to indicate the rezoning of said property. Tax parcel Id: 070-022-00-02-0001-00 Second by-Beth Hoppe Question/Comments: None Motion Carried-None Opposed Beth Hoppe made the Motion to advertise Rezoning 403 West Pittsburgh Street and amendment to Borough Zoning Map. Second by James Smith II Question/Comments: None Motion Carried-None Opposed Landbank Deeds- Ken McKinney stated he completed and signed off on 136 Center Avenue 45 Main Street Questions/Comments: None LSA Grant update. Public Parking Lot Ken McKinney address the Public Parking Lot was denied. Washington County Parks and Recreation will be working on this project with the borough. questions/Comments: None CDBG project. Highland Avenue Ken McKinney updated council that Keith Straight is working with the county on this upcoming project. Questions/Comments: None 6. Solicitor Report- None 7. Council Remarks- Gary Manges questioned what the council was going to do with Main Street. Ken Mckinney, "PAWC contacted me regarding the set back on the streets. I was told that they are going to be changing the lines from Rite Aid to Hartman's Flower shop. I will be contacting the Liquid Fuels representative to discuss cost from Hartman's to Main Street Ext." Gary Manges would like to know when the Street Department garage will begin renovations. Gary Manges feels that the borough discussed the building, and no plans have been discussed. 8. Public Comments/Questions: None 9.
