Special Called Workshop of Mayor & Council City O; Maysville City Hall 4 Homer Street - Maysville, GA 30558 vile, January 30, 2025, AT 6PM Present: Richard Presley Richard Parr, Ward 3; Mayor Pro Kimberly Wilmoth, Ward 1 Amanda Farley, Ward 2 Brodriche Jackson, Ward 4 Kim Jackson, City Clerk Absent: 6:29 p.m. Mayor Richard Presley called the workshop to order. I. Old Business a. Temporary Use/Living in Campers Councilmember Amanda Farley would like to bring forward to the meeting Monday for a vote that living in storage buildings would be banned and living in a camper temporarily for 90 days will require a permit if it is extended it will have to come before council. b. Discussion of Structure of Public Works Department Public Works will and department heads will hire their own staff. C. Wayfinding Signs = Welcome Signs Staff presented a Welcome sign from Arcade that the council previously liked. Staff and DDA will work together to get community input on what they would like to see the Welcome signs look like and where they would like to see them. Northern Data Group offered to sponsor the welcome signs. d. Sidewalk Project Update An update was given on the sidewalk project, there was no change on the timeline. e. Maysville Water Mayor Presley and Councilmember Jackson gave an update on the water. f. HB 581 The council discussed House Bill 581, it was decided that they would like to do an open house to get citizen input on this bill. We will publicize this date once it is determined. g. Verizon Update Staff updated that the Verizon letter received was not a letter from Verizon, but a 3rd party and GMA checked into it. Our contract is still with Verizon as it was. h. DDA Property The deed for 2 properties for DDA is ready for the attorney to file. Mayor Presley will work with the attorney on the Brevard lot on the deed. Il. New Business a. Gary Adams Property Gary Adam has property on Deadwyler Road that he is proposing to sell. Zane Chris his realtor is working with the buyers realtor. The buyers want to work with the city on what type of business would be most suitable for the city. They would like to set up a meeting to discuss any obstacles or opportunities. III. Matters from Mayor & Council a. Peddler License It was brought to the council's attention that the Mobile Food Vendor/Peddle License Ordinance does not have anything for door-to-door sales in it. They would like to bring that back to the council to be amended. b. Library Hours There has been a complaint about the library closing at 2pm on Wednesday by a citizen. At this time, we do not have staff to extend hours beyond what they are open. IV. Adjournment Mayor Richard Presley asked for a motion to adjourn the special-called workshop. Councilmember Richard Parr made a motion to adjourn the special-called workshop. Councilmember Kim Wilmoth seconded the motion. ALL voted in favor. Motion carried.
