Minutes- February4, 2025, 1 Town of Clermont Town Council Meeting February 4, 2025 The Clermont Town Council met on February 4, 2025. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Mayor James Nix, Council Members John Brady, Marcia Kesler, and Amanda Nix. Town Clerk Amy Lomax also attended. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: John Brady motioned to approve the agenda. Marcia Kesler seconded, and all Council members present voted in favor. The motion passed. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Nix led the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES- JANUARY 2025: John Brady motioned to approve January 7, 2025, January 21, 2025 & January 28, 2025, Minutes. Amanda Nix seconded the motion, and all Council members present voted in favor. The motion passed. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The Mayor and Council reviewed the December 2025 Financial Report. REPORT: PLANNING AND ZONING: The Mayor and Council reviewed this report. PUBLIC HEARING: TOWN OF CLERMONT INTENT TO OPT OUT OF THE STATEWIDE ADJUSTED BASE YEAR AD VALOREM HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION: Mayor Nix opened the Public Hearing at 7:08 p.m. The Mayor asked if any members of the public had any questions or comments. There being none, he asked the Council if they had any questions or comments. After a brief discussion by the Council, the Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. RESOLUTION 2025-02-01: RESOLUTION BY THE TOWN OF CLERMONT TO OPT OUT OF THE STATEWIDE ADJUSTED BASE YEAR AD VALOREM HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. $ 48-5-44.2: Marcia Kesler made a motion to approve Resolution 2025-02-01. John Brady seconded the motion. All Council Members present voted in favor. The motion passed. NH JR. TROANS-BATTING CAGES AT HULSEY RD. FELD: Amy Lomax informed the Council that she had received an email from the North Hall Jr. Trojan Baseball Association inquiring about placing batting cages at the Hulsey Road field. Marcia Kesler made a motion to table this agenda item until a representative from the association could be present to provide more details. Amanda Nix seconded the motion. All Council Members present voted in favor. Motion passed. Minutes- February4, 2025, 2 SPLOST 9: The Mayor informed the Council that he has a meeting scheduled with Hall County and the other Hall County Municipalities to begin discussions for SPLOST 9. He asked the Council to start thinking ofthe types of projects they would like included. PROJECT UPDATES: There were no project updates.
