Consider and act upon the minutes from the November 13, 2024 regular meeting of the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioner Steczko made a motion to approve the minutes from the November 13, 2024 regular meeting of the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Commission; motion seconded by Commissioner Brown. Motion Passed 5 - 0 5. Discussion of Federal Grants for Safety Improvements. Chairperson Risher noted that there is no sidewalk between the Woodridge neighborhood to the elementary school. She reported that TxDOT is opening Pedestrian Access Grants in January 2025. Chairperson Risher believes Oak Point should qualify for a grant for sidewalks for this area and a few other areas. The grant writing company that PARC has employed for the boat ramp grant will be able to help with this grant also. 6. Discussion of damaged tree in Jake's Place Park. Chairperson Risher gave an update on the tree situation. Another branch large broke off SO Public Works took the final large branch overhanging the parking lot off. The tree trunk needs to be removed. Commissioner Hall asked if a new tree could be planted to replace the damaged tree and Chairperson Risher said at the next meeting PARC could approve the expense of a new tree and she would like to see it replaced with a Burr Oak as it is the City tree. 7. Consider and act upon authorizing removal of damaged tree in Jake's Place Park. Commissioner Steczko made a motion to request Staff remove the damaged tree in Jake's Place Park; motion seconded by Commissioner Case. Motion Passed 5 - 0 8. Discuss future agenda items for next regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
