Judge Therwhanger introduced Christina Espinoza as a new staff member in the Auditors office. 5. Announce new Election Administrator, Kayla Pipkin, as approved by the Gaines County Election Committee. Judge Therwhanger stated as of January 1, 2025 Kayla Pipkin will be the new Election Administrator. 6. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on authorizing the Auditor to issue a credit card to Tarran DeLeon for the purpose of training and purchasing supplies. Commissioner Rosson made a motion to authorize Esmeralda Felan, Auditor to issue a county credit card to Tarran DeLeon for training and purchasing supplies due to her taking office as the Tax Assessor Collector as of January 1, 2025, Commissioner Elder seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. (see attached) 7. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action authorizing Gaines County to participate in Kroger Texas Settlement Agreement for opioids. Commissioner Rosson made a motion to authorize Judge Therwhanger to apply to participate in the Kroger Texas Settlement Agreement for opioids. Commissioner Houston seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. (see attached) 8. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on bids for roofing received on November 20, 2024. Commissioner Murphree made a motion to accept a bid from ABF Roofing & Foam in the amount of $211,919.79 to replace the roof at SPPHD Seagraves Ofice. Commissioner Rosson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. (see attached) 9. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on a request from Precinct 2 to post an open position of employment. Commissioner Murphree made a motion to approve opening a temporary position in Precinct 2 to replace Tony Robertson once he retires. Commissioner Rosson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 10. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on a request from the Golf Course Superintendent to assist an employee with obtaining pesticide licensing. Commissioner Murphree made a motion to table this item pending further investigation. Commissioner Rosson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 11. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on resolution of support for County Motor Fuel Tax Exemption. Commissioner Rosson made a motion to approve a resolution of support for County Motor Fuel Tax Exemption. Commissioner Houston seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. (see attached) 12. To consider, discuss and take any necessary action on a quote to replace a sign for South Plains Public Health Department using Unclaimed Capital Funds. Total Cost: $1,300.00 Commissioner Elder made a motion to approve a quote from Garrison Brothers Sign Inc. in the amount of$1,300.00 to replace a sign. for South Plains Public Health Department using Unclaimed Capital Funds. This item was table until December 18th in order to prepare a plan and be presented for approval. 14.
