Budget Workshop The Court discussed the following increases/decreases to the budget for fiscal year 2024-2025: Judge Ramos mentioned that he emailed a copy of the budget, but some changes have been made and that we have a balanced budget. Reviewed County. Auditor increase to staff of 5% with budget adjustments to the budget making no changes to the budget; Total expenditures for the year being $7,025,171 with a surplus of $4,343.00; there has been some adjustments made since the report was made and will have an extra $19,000 Cuts/Increases were. made to each office budget (on file) Added another $5,000 toj jail building and maintenance Discussed the budget transfers to other Funds The increases to the DA Investigator and Secretaries that was done through a grant and the possibility of removing or keeping (totaling about $17,000) The Court went back to discuss linei item #9 Honorable Judge Eric Ramos stated that the actual amount is $2,625.00: it was discussed by Commissioner Gutierrez to give the increase. Commissioner Cabrera has an issue with the unfairness and unbalance and is wondering of how many other employees with the same situation and how will this affect our budget, ifthe Court gives the salary increase. EPA Grant Workshop Francisco Briones addressed the Court with a presentation of this workshop, reviewed some activities that the Court could do with this grant; and stated that the deadline is November 215. Jorge Lazaro, with Fulcrum also addressed the Court on how this grant opportunity came about witht the Biden. Administration; EPA (climate change) with one ofthe biggest goals is monies that have already been earmarked for counties that are border counticlisadvantaged communities.
