Minutes Board of Supervisors Special Called Meeting September 5, 2024, 4:00 PM 1.M Meeting called to order- - The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Chairman Turman, Board Room, County Administration Building. 2. Opening Prayer-The opening prayer offered by Supervisor Bechtold. 3. Pledge of Allegiance - The pledge of alliance was led by Chairman Turman. 4. Determination of Quorum - County Administrator, Dr. Linda Millsaps, called the roll. A quorum was found for Supervisors. Supervisor Kuchenbuch attended the meeting remotelyin: a secure location. Supervisor Cox was not in attendance until 4:25 and entered the closed session. 5.Closed Session- Discussion with County Attorney, Mr. Steve Durbin, regardingprobable litigation. Onamotion by Supervisor Boothe, Seconded by Supervisor Bechtold and unanimouslycaried, the 2.2-3711. A.7- Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members or consultants pertaining to actual or probable litigation, where such consultation or briefing in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body. For the purposes of this subdivision, "probable litigation" means litigation that has been specifically threatened or on whichi the public body ori its legal counsel has a reasonable basis tol believe will be commenced by or againsta a known party. Nothing in this subdivision shall be construed to permit the closure of a meeting merely because an attorneyr representing the public bodyi isi in attendance ori is consulted on a matter. Board approved goingi into closed session under1 thet following sections: Construction Dispute Onan motion by Supervisor Boothe, Seconded by Supervisor Kuchenbuch and unanimouslycarnes, the Onamotion by Supervisor Boothe, Seconded by Supervisor Bechtold and unanimously carried, the County Attorney, Mr. Steve Durbin, requested that the Board authorize an extension of the Tolling Provision for at least 30 days and authorize him to make the representations and offers discussed during closed session. On a motion by Supervisor Kuchenbuch, Seconded by Supervisor Bechtold and 6.Amendment to Agenda - On a motion by Supervisor Boothe, Seconded by Supervisor Cox and unanimously carried to amend the agendai toi include other business regarding the Naming of a Private Board approved to come out of closed session.
