MINUTES OF' THE CITY OF HULL MAYOR AND COUNCIL October 24, 2024 The meeting was called to order by Mayor John Barber at 7:00 p.m. at Hull Fire Department. Those in attendance in addition to the Mayor were the Clerk, and council members Mike McElroy, Paige Phillips, and Steven Hollingsworth, and attorney Danny Love.. A moment of silent prayer followed the pledge ofallegiance. The minutes ofthe September meeting were approved unanimously after ai motion by Paige Phillips and a second by Steven Hollingsworth. The financial reports were unanimously approved after a motion by Mike McLeroy and a second by Paige Phillips. Under old business Mayor Barber reported that the renovations were: nearing completion at the City Hall and that the contractor. had indicated hel hoped to everything complete by November gth. Also under old business, City Attorney Love reported that he still had been unable to get with the County Attorney, Mr. Pruett. Mr. Pruett has been out oft the office recently due to the death of his son. We have already had the first reading oft the Ordinance and there was no urgency to complete soi it was the consensus ofMayor and Council not to push this even ifit didn't get Additionally under old business ai motion was made by Paige Phillips and seconded by Mike McElroy that we spend up to $2,000.00 toj purchase some new Christmas decorations tol be used at the Well. The motion was unanimously approved. Paige, the Mayor and the Clerk willl be looking at various locations to çome up with ideas for the decorations. Mayor Barber presented a Contract from Drake Pest Control to treat the City Hall for termites. The initial contract cost is $1,600.00 with an annual treatment expense of$175.00.
