Aurora, Nebraska January 28,2025 A meeting of thel Mayor and Council of the City of Aurora, Nebraska, was convened in open and public session at 7:30 p.m. on. January 28, 2025 at the City Hall. Present were Councilors: Paul Lackore, Daniel Bartling, Mark Dunn, Dick Phillips and Esther Bergen. Mayor Marlin Seeman conducted the meeting. City Officials present were City Administrator Eric Melcher, Chiefof Police Paul Graham, Public Works Director Adam Darbro and Clerk/Treasurer Barbra Mikkelsen. Notice of said meeting was given by publication in the Aurora News Register on January 22, 2025. Notice of meeting was simultaneously given to the Mayor and all members of the Council and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt of notice and the agenda is attached to these minutes. Days Committee members, informed the City Council of street closures and events that will bel happening during Charles McGraw of Community Action Partnership ofl Mid Nebraska- RYDE Transit reviewed the budget request for 2025-2026 for the public transportation service inl Hamilton County. The request is for the $17,920 which is ani increase of $2,834 from last year. Councilor Phillips moved to approve Resolution 25-01 instructing Community Action Partnership of Mid: Nebraska- RYDE Transit to apply for federal funds and toj provide for local funding match of $17,920. Councilor Lackore seconded the motion. Voting Aye: Bartling, Dunn, Phillips, Bergen and Lackore. Nay: None. Absent and voting: Roblee. RESOLUTION25-01 WHEREAS, there are Federal funds available under Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act and for the Nebraska Public Transportation Assistance WHEREAS, the RYDE Transit-Community Action Partnership ofl Mid Nebraska desires to apply for said funds toj provide publict transportation in NOWTHEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Aurora hereby instructs the RYDE Transit to apply for said funds. Said funds are to be used for the RYDE Transit transportation operations in Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Application for Public Transportation Assistance. Program, and Hamilton County.
