Minutes City Council- - Regular City Council Meeting CITY OF SIMONTON November 19, 2024 This is a true and correct copy of the Minutes of the City Council - Regular Meeting of the Simonton City Council held on November 19, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order at 6:30 p.m. A quorum was present with the following City Council Members in attendance: Kelli Carlson, Courtney Cox, Laurie Boudreaux, Faith Haley, Justin Boudreau and Burns Turner City Staff present: City Secretary Nanci Mohr Olson and Olson Attorney Philip Boedeker Public Present: Dan McJunkin and Norman Clark. Invocation and Pledge Mayor Boudreaux gave thei invocation. 2. Mayor Boudreaux led the assembly in thel Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Public Comments There were no public comments. 4. Consider and take action on the Consent Agenda Items listed. under the Consent Agenda are considered routine and are generally enacted in one motion. The exception to this rule occurs when a Council Member requests one or more items removed from the Consent Agendaj forseparate discussion and action. a. Draft City Council Meeting Minutes of October 22, 2024 Regular Meeting. Council Member/Pro Tem Courtney Cox questioned why financial reports werei not included in Council's meeting packet. Mayor Boudreaux responded that they were not ready and that there would be a catch-up meeting in December to include Motion by Council Member/Pro Tem Courtney Cox to approve October 22, 20241 Meeting Minutes. Discuss and take action regarding Resolution 2024-09: Al Resolution ofthe City Council of the City of Simonton, Texas, Adopting a Covered Applications and Prohibited Technology Policy as Required by Texas Senate Bill 1893 ofthe 88th City Attorney Philip Boedeker provided an explanation of the policy and its impact on: governmental systems. Council Member/Pro Tem Courtney Cox requested clarification regarding using Tik" Tok on her personal devices. Board and EDC. B. Board Updates - none Keep Simonton Beautiful Updates Council Member Kelli Matula stated that Home Tour tickets are available at Keep Calm Hair Salon as well as at City Hall. She requested that everyone get the word out to promote ticket sales and community participation. Mayor Boudreaux thanked the Keep Simonton Beautiful Commission and its volunteers for their Veterans' Day and Christmas decorating efforts. Mayor Boudreaux explained that there were no financial reports to review as the year end audit is underway. Mayor Boudreaux also stated that construction at City Hall is progressing, however, wel had an unexpected issue arise with regard to the restrooms not being ADA compliant. Mayor Boudreaux stated that there was an omission on the plans with the number of seats, and seating capacity will be C. Mayor increased in Council Chambers. City Attorney none City Staff- none City Council d. e. f Council Member/Pro Tem Courtney Cox requested that the following matters be added to the next City Council Meeting Agenda: 1. Financial report updates; 2. Texas Pride update; 3. Zoning update; and 4. Roadwork update. Council Member/Pro Tem Courtney Cox also stated that she noticed the City Administrator job posting on the Texas Municipal League's website and wasn'tsure that the position was approved under the most recent budget. 10. Next City Council Meeting is on December 17, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. 11. Adjournment Mayor Boudreaux adjourned the City Council Meeting at 6:47 p.m. without objection.
