Hydro-Geological Curtis Steger from Steger & Bizzell Engineering introduced the item and presented the staff report. The City Council assigned Steger and Bizzell to work with RW Harden and their hydro geophysicist. They have collected data and done the investigation as included in tonight's agenda packet. There are three sites, 2 are promising enough to do boring. The drillers will begin next week with test the wells. The drillers will do surface casing. Next, they will bore and pull water quality samples. They will determine whether or not the Parkland Springs (formerly known as Angel Springs) water is under the influence. There was a discussion of the costs that could be expected from this project. It was noted that this project will be considered as part of the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) that City Council will be discussing in an upcoming Special Meeting. There was al brief discussion of options and potential costs City Manager Brandenburg explained that there are numerous options for potential projects, currently they are being classified as short term, intermediate and long-term water solutions. There are also options for test wells at Indian Mound which will be investigated at this same time. These wells were formerly called 'Indian Mound' Wells. They are now named after the acronym oft the All-Hands-on Deck Group and are called 'AHOD 1 and AHOD 2'. There was a discussion of the name AHOD' and the Task Force by general consensus agreed that it preferred the name 'Handley' for these wells, as that is the surname ofthe The drillers have started Handley #1. We do not know how many Living Unit Equivalents (LUEs) to expect. Steger) Curtis Steger disseminated handouts regarding this item. The Task Force discussed the specifics of the various agreements with Brazos River Authority (BRA). There was a discussion of the amount of water the City ofLiberty Hill has rights to but does not use, only keeps in reserve. There was a discussion of the cost ofreserving this water, as well as the overall There was a short brain-storming session to discuss possible options for getting the reserve water through another city (not Leander). There have been some recent changes to the agreement(s) that the City of Georgetown had with the City ofLeander. This may open up possibilities for City ofLiberty price structure used by BRA.
