Halifax County Electoral Board November 4, 2024 The Halifax County Electoral Board met in the Registrar's office in Halifax, VA, on Monday, November 4, 2024 for distribution of voting equipment to the various precincts for the November 5, 2024 General Election. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. The voting equipment was distributed to all precincts until 5:00 p.m. The Electoral Board decided to recess at 5:00 p.m. and reconvene at the Registrar's office in Halifax, Virginia at 7:00 p.m. after the polls close on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. November 5, 2024 The Halifax County Electoral Board reconvened in the Registrar's office in Halifax, Virginia, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at' 7:00 p.m. After all election results were called in from all precincts and entered into the VERIS system and all voting results and voting equipment was received by the board for the November General Election, the chair stated that the board will reconvene on Wednesday morning November 6, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. to begin processing the Canvass. November 6, 2024 The Halifax County Electoral Board reconvened in the Registrar's office in Halifax, Virginia, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 9:00 a. m. to begin certification of the Canvass. All members were present. The Chair, Paul Smith called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. The provisional ballots and SDRs were processed until 11:00 a.m., and the recording of election totals were processed until 11:55 a.m. at which 9 time the Chair asked the board to break for lunch and reconvene for continuation of Canvass at 1:00 p.m. The board reconvened at 1:00 p.m. and completed recording totals at 4:15 p.m. The chair, Paul Smith motioned to recess and reconvene on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. for completion of the Canvass. Vice Chair Matthew Cunningham seconded and the motion passed. November 13, 2024 The Halifax County Electoral Board reconvened in the Registrar's office in Halifax, Virginia, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. to continue with the Canvass. All members were present. The Canvass was officially verified by the Electoral Board with all votes being correctly tallied and recounted by the board members, and all official Abstracts were signed and sealed by the board. With no more old or new business to discuss, Chairman Paul Smith motioned to adjourn the meeting and Vice Chairman Matthew Cunningham seconded. The motion passed.
