MINUTES THESE ARE THE MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE TOWN OF CONETOE, NORTH CAROLINA JULY31,2 2023 The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Conetoe met in a Regular Meeting on' Tuesday, July 31rst, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Room at 204 West Church Street, Conetoe, NC. PRESENT ABSENT none ALSO PRESENT Town Clerk: Kelly Hunter Commissioners: Jenny Staton-Hinnant, Delane Bryant, Clay Webb, Regina Gray 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER. AND INVOCATION GIVEN Mayor Pro-Tem Bryant called the meeting to order, and Commissioner Hinnant offered the invocation. 2. WELCOME TO CITIZENS Mayor Pro-Tem Bryant acknowledged citizens and special guests, Attorney Laney Ezzell and Ashley Jeffries her Legal Assistant. 3. PROPOSED AGENDA BY COUNCIL Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Commissioner Hinnant seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. 4. READING OFTHE MIINUTES The minutes from the Regular Monthly meeting held on May 10, 2023 were approved by Commissioner Hinnant, Commissioner Webb seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. These were the: read at the previous meeting in June, however due to a lack of quorum they could not be approved at the time. The minutes from the Regular Monthly Meeting held on June 13, 2023 and Special Meeting on June 20, 2023 were also read. Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve both the minutes as presented. Commissioner Hinnant seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. 5. TOWN MANAGER REPORT a. A report was given on the status of the renovations currently taking place at the b. An update on the Super Summer Saturday's Events the Town hosts weekly was Town Hall. given. C. An accounting of different collaborations with the county was presented. These included details on the Walk Audit and Get Off the List. The town has also joined d. The Upper Coastal Plains Council of Government will not meet again until August. There are several grants and services that they can offer the town. Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve the Town Manager Report as presented. Commissioner Hinnant seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. the' Tarboro Edgecombe Chamber ofCommerce. 6. CLERK REPORT a. A list of both completed and upcoming reports required for the Town was presented along with bank totals for all accounts. The Town Clerk also presented ali list of all bills/invoices paid and deposited fund amounts. Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve all the bills/invoices paid. Funds in the amount of $71,608.80 were withdrawn from the money market account ending in -1433 in the form ofa cashier's check for the purchasing oft the old Conetoe Volunteer Fire Department building. The approval of the transfer of funds and the FY23-24 Budget were both approved by the Board at the. June 20t, 2023 meeting. i. Commissioner Webb made a motion to approve the Clerk Report. Commissioner Hinnant seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. No Old Business was brought to the floor. Commissioner Hinnant made a motion to close Old Business. Commissioner Webb seconded the motion 7. OLD BUSINESS and it carried unanimously. 8. NEW BUSINESS i. No New Business was presented. Commissioner Webb made a motion to close New Business. Commissioner Hinnant seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. 9. CITIZEN RECOGNITION a. The TOC recognized Mattie and Greg Worsley as the citizens oft the month. Hey are a valued couple who are always super supportive and interactive in the community. They come to all the events: The Big Sweep, the Walk Audit, the Super Summer Saturday's program. They may be found playing with the kids or selling their peanuts as a vendor for the town. Their daughter Monica wrote "Mattie or as the community knows her as Bae, Bae has always been sO helpful to her family and her community. She is a mother to 2 beautiful ladies and a wonderful wife to her husband, Greg, We can always count on her and Greg on being a helping hand no matter what is going on in the community. Their dedication and selflessness are truly admirable."
