V.AOT Sloan Aquatic Study Parks and Recreation DirectorJ Joseph Keel introduced the OT Sloan Pool Aquatic Study and the CPL team who conducted it. CPL Principal in Charge Rachel Nilson and Project Manager Kim Janiszewski presented the study results, and a copy of their presentation is attached and incorporated into these minutes. Ms. Nilson noted that if the project is conducted. in phases, phase 1 would take roughly 12 months and cost $6 million dollars and phase 2 and would be shorter. than phase 1 and cost $5 million dollars. Outside covered space and a shelter were key requests from the community. Mr. Keel. said the Parks and Recreation department currently offers rentals for birthday parties and other events outside, as there is no inside space available. 241104 OT Sloan Park Pool - Board of Commissioners.pdr VI. MANAGERS REPORTS VIA County Manager's Report County Manager Lisa Minter announced the upcoming New Main Library groundbreaking on Friday, November. 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. with a rain date of Friday, December 6, 2024 at. 3:30 p.m. A video of the announcement. is available on Lee County Govemment's Facebook and YouTube channel. Ms. Minter. advised the Board ofa an informal request from the City of Sanford to schedule a fireworks test with their vendor on November 5 at Kiwanis Family Park on the County's portion of the Park, but the City's insurance was not in place and the test had to be cancelled. Staff will notify the Board when a formal request is submitted regarding July 4 Fireworks and as updates are available. Commissioner. Robert Reives asked if staff could look into contracting with Lee County Schools', horticulture students to work on the landscaping for the NewLibrary. VII.
