Present: Samantha Colburn, Marguerite Lyskawa, Tadd Wegener, Sheri Woodall, Barb Zastrow, Pat Brimacombe, and Judith Nelson Public Comments: None Minutes: yskawa/Wegener moved to approve the October 21, 2024 minutes as printed. Motion carried. Tomahawk Area Historical Society Report: 1. Letter about not receiving the Flexible Facilities Program grant: The historical society willl be able tor remain ini the basement. They will need to move into the cage area. Lyskawa suggested a statement about the historical society items having to move into the caged are be added to the letter. Library Business: 1. ALA Grant - Working with Entrance Technologies & Pieper Electronic for the automatic inner lobby door. AI new pole installed for the handicapped accessible door. We will not have to adda a sidewalk piece for patrons who use walkers or wheelchairs to get to the button. The doori is working well. At the front desk they have al button that opens the inner doors. With the money left over O'Hare would like to purchases handicapped accessible tables like the one by the 2. Middle Reader' Wall- Friends is donating the funds to add a "felt right" installment in the youth wing between the window (chess table) and DVD: section. The wall display will be blue, green and yellow. They will be able to pin posters to it and iti is noise cancelling as well. computers. Fund Fundraising/Donations/Grants 1. Update Wisconsin Arts Board Grant for $2,500- - Drawing & Painting programs dates October 3, November 7, and December 5. O'Hare met with them and we have been invited to do a second round of art programs. We could become part of other art programs and able to offer them twice a month. She will discuss it in December with staff. The library is eligible for as second grant. The grant is due in. January or February. People taking the painting class would like to continue as an open space one day per month. The classes are for all ages. 2. Tomahawk Community Thrift Shop Grant Application Due December- asked for financial support of early reader books, face painting part and other materials. O'Hare is working on grant. She will finish within three weeks. She bought a 11x17 size poster to sign and present to the Thrift Shop as at thank you for supporting the programs at the library. The face painting party 3. Money received from the Friends of the Library will be used on the Bluey & Bingo Spring Break event. The Library will also be asking for funding of the foam party which will bei the last day of O'Hare said will be the opener for the summer programs. the. July summer activities. Committee Reports 1. Discuss/take action of 2025 Library Budget - O'Hare is waiting for the amount that insurance will go up. The board will look at wages in December. The libraryi is being used by al lot ofy youth after school. The problem is making sure the parents have given permission to use the computer.
