Mayor Riley invited Girl Scout Troop 834 to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. To accommodate the Girl Scouts, Mayor Riley moved Presentation 6.1 up on the agenda. 2. Presentations 1. Pursuant to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Section 551.071 Consultation with Counsel on Legal Matters: To Receive Legal Advice Regarding the Contract between Tiger Sanitation and the City of Leon Valley The City Council entered Executive Session at 6:10 PM. 4. Reconvene into Regular Session The City Council reconvened in Open Session at 6:31 PM. 5. Announcements by the Mayor and Council Members. At this time, reports about items of community interest, which no action will be taken may be given to the public as per Chapter 551.0415 ofthe Government Code, such as: expressions oft thanks, congratulations or condolence, information regarding holiday schedules, reminders of social, ceremonial, or community events organized or sponsored by the governing body or that was or will be attended by a member of the Leon Valley City Council or a City official. Mayor Chris Riley and members of the City Council shared announcements. Mayor Riley announced that Council Place 4, Orozco, would be celebrating his birthday on December 14th. She presented him with a cake, and everyone in attendance joined in singing "Happy Birthday." 9. City Manager's Report Dr. Crystal Caldera, City Manager, announced that the City Manager's Report was available Dr. Caldera thanked staff for their efforts in organizing the Annual Lighting Ceremony. She also informed everyone that staff would hold their holiday luncheon, during which, City offices would be closed from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Lastly, she encouraged everyone to vote in print on the table in the foyer and posted on the City website. for their favorite department door in the holiday door decoration contest. 1. Mayor Chris Riley noted that Emergency Preparedness was included on last year's agenda. She emphasized the importance of citizens being prepared for emergencies but suggested this could be addressed outside of a Town Hall meeting. Dr. Crystal Caldera, City Manager, proposed creating a flyer to distribute. She also stated that she would reallocate the 15 minutes originally designated for Emergency Preparedness to Council Place 4, Orozco, requested that an update on new developments be added to Mayor Pro-Tem, Council Place 3, Campos, proposed rearranging the agenda by moving the Goals and Objectives item to the end and prioritizing the Future Needs and Infrastructure item earlier in the agenda.
